This is good news Hexagon was always a good modeler and hobbyist were able to explore all its modeling tools at a reasonable price thank you for sharing this development news

Yes, that is good news for the 3d modeling community. I always believed Hexagon was an excellent tool for beginner and intermediate modeling purposes, and especially good for people who are interested in learning polygonal subdivision surface modeling techniques. It contains a relatively impressive toolset and for the price they are asking you really can not go wrong. Once you outgrow it, you can move on to more complex and robust packages.

I just downloaded the beta. They fixed some bugs I reported 10 years ago. I may end up finally moving over from Hex 1.21.

Not had a chance to look yet, but I wonder if they've fixed the bug I found...
Easy to do. Pop a cube. Extrude a face... Sub. Turn off sub. Crash......
It's not crashing for me doing that using Windows 10 64-bit Pro.

Now that DAZ3D has resurrected Hexagon will Renderosity resurrect the Hexagon forum here?
The only problem is that even when Hexagon was still being regularly updated, the posts to the forum were minimal and activity very low. I'd like to see more people post here to this forum. Since Hexagon is a modeling application, everything we talk about here should apply to it just fine. If we can get a lot of activity of Hexagon users going here on the 3d modeling forum, it would show that there's enough interest in the specific package to warrant a targeted forum for it. Just a thought.

Eovia users came here back in the day because there was no Eovia forum. After Daz3D bought Eovia and started a forum, this place dried up. Most 3D modeling apps host their own busy forums now.

I thought Hexagon3D was abandoned by DAZ3D. It appears there will be a new release in the first quarter of 2018. In the interim a beta copy is available for free...
