A friend of mine made a chair for me in Lightwave, but I can't texture it in poser (pro pack)... What do I do wrong?!?

You need to save it out of poser as an obj then bring the object into uv mapper, (free program), then save both the obj and the texture map out of uv mapper and use that obj in poser. Then you will be able to texture it. Marque

I can't open it in UvMapper... there's allways an error :(

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 11:13 AM

ok, export it as a lightwave object .lwo, then pull that into poser and export it as an obj, then use that one for uvmapper and it will work. Marque

You need to export it from Lighwave as an OBJ file, then import it into UVMapper and give it a new template.

I have tried both things now but it doesn't work. It says: This object has no UV texture coordinates Use Edit->New UVMap to create some

WarriorDL ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 3:05 PM

Right. Click ok, go to Edit/New UV Map/Planar

Then use Steve Cox's UV MAPPER TUTORIALS.

That's right you're still not out of the woods. Using UV mapper takes some getting used to. Also if you take the Obj and group it first in Poser then go into UV mapper you'll be able to select by group. A chair probably won't be bad whether you group or not but organic models like animals or people benefit greatly from this. Like Warrior DL said you really need to go through the tutorial, probably won't take 15 minutes but will be well worth the hassle.
