i'm trying to get the character to turn around realistically, and instead of pivoting on the foot, she rotates her whole body like an action figure, and the "body" circle is ALIGNED with the character. HELP!

Click on the body part that should rotate, this will help.

i don't think you understand what i'm trying to say. i know how to rotate a specific body part. my problem is i want to rotate the WHOLE BODY with the FOOT as a PIVOT not rotate the foot. also are you calling me an idiot?

Unless I'm missing something in your question, I believe the obvious answer is to click on the character's hip and do a Y-axis rotation with the dials.

No, I'm not calling you an idiot but this is the New Poser Users Help Forum. To do what you want use the Joint editor and move the green cross from the hip to the foot and you will get the wanted result. Here is just simple example:

As I wrote above, you have to uncheck "Use Inverse Kinematics". You'll findit i the figure menue.
