Subject: Poser 11 Tutorial for Beginners

I'm a new user to Poser and I'm looking for tutorials to help me get started. I was able to find this YouTube playlist of Renderosity tutorials for beginners, but it's for an older Poser version. I'm having trouble finding something similar for the latest version (11). Anyone have any recommendations?

Take a look HERE and see if you like those. 😄

A lot of the basic stuff for poser hasn't changed, so older tutorials are still valid. You can then top these up by tutorials on the new features of poser 11, in particular superfly.

Online Now!

Just pay attention to the different features covered in the videos. There is Poser 11 and Poser 11 Pro; features covered in Poser 11 Pro does not exist in the standard Poser 11. But just the same, you should get some mileage from those tutes.

Ok, I guess I'll bang through the older version tutorials. I understand the UI hasn't really changed, but still that's a bit annoying that there are no up to date tutorials at least from Smith Micro.

There are up to date tutorials, but on specific aspects that have changed. You will find some here at Rendo, and if you go to SM's youtube channel you will find more there. This

is the tutorial I started with about 3 years ago to deal with the basics

Hello everyone... Not sure if this is the place to ask, but ok...here I go... I just recently got Poser 11 for my birthday (yay me! ^^) and I haven't used poser in like about...ummm...3 years (I know bad bad girl! busy RL) ugh am digressing!! Ok...anyWOO...I was trying to install my V4 and M4 (yeah, don't judge me ^^...I love my V4 and M4! Just like those who still love Posette! hahaha) and somehow Poser 11 is not installing them... Can someone please guide me as to how to get them installed? Greatly appreciate any assistance ^_^

If you are installing from zip files, the problem with content from DAZ is that it has a folder called content which has the runtime in it.

If you have tried to get poser to install these, go to the runtime you tried to install them in in windows explorer. You should find a folder in the title folder (eg if you are trying to install them in a runtime called "Victoria and Michael", the actual folder called "Victoria and Michael") called content. In this you will find a folder called runtime. Cut this and go up one level and paste so that it is merged with the runtime folder you already have, and now you will find them in poser. (If you have morph sets such as morphs ++ you will need to initialise these, there are other threads explaining this)

If you haven't tried to install with the poser install from zip archive feature, just unzip them and copy the runtimes and merge with the runtime you want them to be in.

A third alternative is to you use the DAZ download manager if you still have your DAZ account. By default this loads them to My Daz 3d library and you can add this library to poser.

A forth alternative, if you have them already installed for a previous version of poser, just add this library to poser.
