Subject: Transfering to a new PC, esp. DSON importer and content

Hey there, my rusty trusty PC is starting to act up and I can feel an upgrade coming on. I know if I reinstall Poser 10 on a new machine I can just copy over all my backed up runtimes and have all my Poser-native content but is there any trick to transfering over any of my Genesys content and content that depends on the DSON importer? I can copy as many files from old PC to new as are needed, but will copying all my runtimes and DS content directories be enough to jump right back in and continue using Genesys figures and accessories or will I have to reinstall the importer on the new system? I'm really leary of trying to reinstall content, who knows how order-dependent it is after several years of plopping content on content on content. Anyone out there have relevant experience they could share? I'd appreciate it.

You need to transfer all the DSON-related files, too. Why not copy everything and then do a clean reinstall of just Poser 10 if you want to.

Ok yeah, that's what I would do. My concern was just whether installing the DSON importer had made system changes that wouldn't be carried over from one PC to another. Ex: registry changes, Windows system files, anything that a brute force copy of all my poser runtimes and Daz studio files wouldn't account for.

The DSON Importer plug-in installed to the Poser application folder, not a library, so you will need to reinstall that. The content should be safe just to copy over with the rest of your content.

Ah ok gotcha. I'll have my poser installers, libraries backup and the dson importer installer on hand then for the operation. Thanks
