Today I collected 12, 39 gallon bags of leaves. So I thought I would capture the beauty and forget the work. This first picture is as captured by the scanner. An attempt at an artful arrangement. I did three of these. Leaves are wet so they are very complient.

So the original waa a place to start. Then I opened it in Corel Photo Paint 9 and started to experiment. With applied lighting effects and a solid and darker background I get this picture. These images are 24 meg in the computer and 6 meg in the original file. I still have the leaves in plastic bag. (Other arrrangement?)

Don't forget to make a pile of say 4 bags worth of leaves and photograph yourself falling backwards into them. The leaves are just starting to turn here. Pretty soon we may have pile of them. Sorry about the wet weather. Bsteph

12 39-gallon bags of leaves? That's a bunch! I leave mine on the ground until spring. That way they protect roots in the ground from freeze, and I can put it off for another 5 months! Nice picture. I couldn't live someplace where there wasn't any fall colors!

Bsteph: recieved the same advice from a neighbor out for running. Ill let the grandchildren fall into leaves. At my age you try to keep standing! Phrank: The alternative is to mulch them into small pieces and let nature make fertilizer. I spent two years out West in 52' - 54'. I returned home to Indians in the Fall. I was very glad to see the colors on old US 40 (National Road)coming into the state early in the morning.
