You can fairly easily convert your DSON content to Poser 11 native and never worry after conversion. I also have no problem with G2F DSON in Poser 11, so there is probably something specific to your setup going on.
Someone please tell me how to do this, because my system will sometimes crash when using the DSON importer for G2 models.
I move figures/characters/clothes from DAZ to Poser all the time. Many G2 products have Poser Conversion Files, and if you go through your product library and download them to your Poser runtime, they will appear in Poser. But here's the rub. You have to rely on DSON to run DAZ native G2 figures and kit in Poser, and DSON is always an iffy proposition. It's slow and unreliable.
My solution is to convert my DAZ figures to native Poser ones. You can do this with people and clothing. You will need to buy Netherworks Creators Toybox at Hivewire3D, which has instructions on the fairly simple procedure for converting your DAZ stuff so it will act like anything else in Poser. If you look for my posts at Hivewire's forums (this place won't allow me to link to the other site), I've described the process in step by step terms because the Hivewire world includes Poser and DAZ users who get along and help each other out.
A native G2F or G2M figure will play well with the fitting room because it has real Poser rigging.
For G2 outfits that don't have Poser CF files, it's a simple matter to export them from DS as cr2's and run the Toybox on them. Presto: Poser native! I also have had no problem exporting obj's of Genesis 3 clothes and importing them to rig in the fitting room or the setup room. Exporting the loaded item from DS as an obj carries the materials with it. Is that how you are exporting your obj's?
I've had the same problems as @joeannie. However after I relocated my Poser runtime and the DSON files to PP 2014 where everything works perfectly I opened PP 11 again and something surprising happened: Now the G2, G3, and G8 figures suddenly open without problems in PP11. I don't know why but it only works with the runtime linked to PP 2014 on my PC. But to be more specific: I have only Poser runtime and that's in Poser within Program files because I have all administration rights. I had only problems when I tried to use the 'my files - documents' path outside C:Program files.
@hborre: no the subdivision turn off only makes sense if you load a lot of figures into Poser. Otherwise you don't see nearly enough how the figure looks with used morphs. I haven't done it when I've loaded only up to four G2 figures with lots of morphs and clothed and it worked decent enough. I have 8 GB RAM that's not much but it works. After I've posed a fully clothed Genesis figure I strip the unused morphs off with svdl's megauseful old python script 'remove morphs' (don't forget to put NEW null *.exc files into Python->poserScripts->svdl for the Genesis figures as Genesis2Male{3f4c7dca-28ea-0ece-f925-e155625984f8}.exc !!!). This way you use less MB for each Genesis figure and I've rendered scenes with 10 Genesis 2 figures without using subdivision off!

I have Poser Pro 11 and I do not get this problem with G2F and DSON. What version of the DSON Importer are you using?
I have the latest from DAZ3D, which hasn't change for a long time & I use the DAZ Dl manager, so I assume I'd see if a new one was offered.
The CR/PP import is fine, it is only the DUF files being misinterpretted by the PZ/python stub (so I guess DSON import). I noticed the items in the DUF are NOT fully qualified, so for example it might be "url" : "name://@selection/chest:?rotation/x/value", "keys" : [ [ 0, 7.928934 ] ] ... but many things have a 'chest', so I am guessing the code walking the object tree gets confused now and walks down the wrong tree.
In my product library that one is listed as Beta (inactive). It still downloads fine, just can be hard to tell that's the 1.1.3.49 version if you don't already know. Does anyone know, can it still be searched out in the main DAZ library if its not already in your past orders list from years ago? I wasn't having any luck sussing it out from the main store page.

I've just installed dson on one of my machines. The installer does install the files in a poser 2012 runtime, even though I haven't got poser 2012. I then simply copied this runtime to my poser 11 runtime, the main one in program files not my poser 11 content and it seemed to work fine.
Yeah, I tried to install DSON and it wouldn't install because it was looking for the 2012 runtime that I don't have...
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Just create one where it expects it, then copy the files to your poser 11 runtime.
Okay. I will give it a try later. I forgot where I downloaded it from. It's not in the DIM

Poser Pro 11 has been a big waste of money for me. i was an earley adopter, thinking, that it might support features of projectE, but PE was delayed and it turned out, that it work as nicley in PoserPro2014. PoserPro11 is pretty much useless to me. None of the rarley new features seem helpful within my workflow. On top of all, I feel kind of cheated. Bullet Physics is told to be free, GoZ comes free, cycles Render is free with Blender, but SmithMicro makes you pay for it by putting all this into Poser. I will uninstall my Poser11Pro too, and I will upgrade never again. Bye,bye SM.
My Poser 11 Pro runs on 3 computers, mostly from morning till evening. The last crash was, and I checked because I report them all to SM, a year and 2 months ago.
But, I run "clean" PC's and by default run NO scripts at all.
I run "virgin" Poser versions on relatively "virgin" PC's. As stable as a rock.
And If you look at my Poser2Blender2Poser series on YouTube, you all know that I work sometimes in the corners of what is possible.
Poser11Pro, + Blender + Krita. You don't need more.
"THE TRICK" is to stay AWAY as far as possible from any competition scripts starting with DSON.
DAZ content has its own app, and that's where it belongs.
I too was an early sucker, sorry buyer of Poser 11 and the library has yet to appear. Tried all the hints and vague help from Smith Micro and safely say that it was a complete waste of money. For something as basic as the library not to appear is fairly drastic as an update to from any other version. Not using it and by the looks of it never will. Thanks Smith Micro for nothing.
Sorry to hear about your problems @shinner.
However, with an estimated 10000+ Poser users (that's a very cauteous guess!) for whom the library works fine, did you ever consider that there might be something wrong AT YOUR END?
This always remembers me of the countless "pass don't work!!1!" comments for archives on certain "chan"s:
obviously the pass works fine for tens of thousands of people, yet those few people still insist that by magic the pass only is wrong for them, even though the pass sometimes is as simple as "#pass123#" - really! Often the reason is that they can't do a simple mark/copy/paste...
So if you're still the odd man out with a problem:
Have you ever considered that there might be something wrong ON YOUR END?
Did you try a fresh Windows install, without all the fancy "add-ons" that most of the time do more harm than they are of use?
Do you actually run the latest versions of hardware drivers, and software add-ons needed?
DO you know how to "computer"?
Sorry mate, but I think it's YOU who must do some homework before asking to be breast-fed by people who have better to do. Especially since you just cried "don't work!!1!" without supplying us any details about your rig' specifications and other details.
Good Luck! Karina
Anyone who recommends a fresh Windows install just because the effing Poser library doesn't work as it should - something SM is aware of and has addressed a few times in their service releases - shows absolute no sign of "how to computer".
Karina, next time TRY TO READ the READ ME file, first page: "known issues: library" !!!

That directory gets kind of wonky with permissions even when you are logged in as yourself. The program may have other permissions. Some programs use Public/My Documents to get around it, of course if you just stick the content on another drive that's all public.
I tend to steer clear of My Documents for stuff I didn't create myself. It's not a good place to put a library with any program.
KarinaKiev seems to adopt the old adage that if it doesn't work then I'm the idiot.
Having worked professionally in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and at present am a Previz artist for a major studio, I take his blase' attitude to other peoples problems with a very large pinch of salt. I have and do work work with a good selection of Professional software, and am used to dealing with bugs every day , this on the other hand never did work "Out of the Box" So qualifies as a major dud in anyone's world. I was quite happy with Smith Micro all the way up through Poser 4 to Poser 9 but this really was a case of taking the piss and not putting out any fixes. Being told that I don't have permissions on my ends says a lot for their installation process. And quipping about passwords has , to use an Irish term "Feck all" to do with the problem described. If aren't going to help then don't contribute!

Deleted Poser 11 Pro this morning - back to Poser10/2014 Pro.
Well, I finally gave up on Poser 11 (& I guess Smith Micro). Use of G2F/DSON import no longer works in P11, or rather G2F can not longer be posed if she wears clothing. Somehow, the PZ process gets confused, trying to apply XYZ changes to the clothing, NOT the base figure. I tried - for a few image sequences -- to always delete the clothing, pose the G2F, then add the clothes again, but that makes no sense. P10 still works fine. I suppose I could think of DS, but far too much of my runtime is Poser only. P10 is slower to save, but works.
