Clearance items are cheaper for Prime users and with all the VGS sales that are going at 65% off you may find a lot of bargains!
Keep in mind that the specific sort of sales that include a very large part of the store are always spontaneous and never announced in advanced! :)

One thing I found late in the game, just a couple of days before I dropped my PRIME membership, was that the clearance items don't display properly in price. What you see when looking at the price of the item is not what it will be after you put it in your cart. That is when the 55% shows up if you are PRIME. No one ever told me that and I never saw it written down anywhere, so I always kept waiting for that 30% to be boosted upwards as a reward and it only happened during storewide clearance sales..
Today, now that I no longer have PRIME, I see a store-wide PRIME sale. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how often these occur? It's not in the budget for me this month to re-start PRIME (might have been nice to know it was coming, or to have it as a reward while my membership was in place to remind me what I would be missing). If this is only a once or twice a year thing to encourage members to join it would probably be folly to do so after the sale.
The 55% off for Clearance item for all Prime members is mentioned in Prime Membership purchase page along with all the extras that you get when you buy prime.
You should have read in detail of all the benefits you get when you bought your membership and you would have been informed from day one of all that..

I'm afraid my previous reply concerning future sales of any sort.. still stands for obvious reasons! :)

I appreciate your response, and I did read the benefits, but I also trust that the price that the pages show me will be correct. They are not.
I'll bet that if anyone is a PRIME member and they go to any clearance page they will NOT see a single price anywhere approaching 50%. What they are shown is wrong.
It seems natural to expect that the price a PRIME member is seeing listed on a page is the price that they will pay. It works that way on all other items and pages that I can see, but Clearance page prices are the exception, and there is no warning anywhere about that.
Because clearance items are discounted for non-prime members too! As a Prime member you get a much bigger discount! The sale price can't be discounted differently for both on the product page, yet if you add a clearance item in your cart, you can see exactly what you are charged.. if you don't like it you may remove! :)

As a matter of policy, I think items should stay on the site unless the vendor deliberately removes them. As was said before, the items are still in the database for people who already bought them.
Some vendors, like xtrart3d and seven, leave a large part of their catalog in the clearance bin all the time. Their items don't seem to disappear, either. Is that normal?
In response to consumer573's original post, a real clearance sale is always welcome. :D

When is the next scheduled clearance sale?
I'm finding that more and more of the items on my wishlist are moving to clearance. I'm still a Poser user, no Daz. That tends to mean nothing genesis. I don't like the Clearance system which puts items on a paltry fixed 30 or 35% off. I never bother to look at them at that price because there are always other equally interesting well-made items I would like to buy that can be had at less cost. I maximize the use of my funds since most of my work is discretionary and not really 'needed.'
I've heard that Prime gets them at 55%, but personally I've never seen that as a Prime member. They always show in the 30-35% range.
I feel the only time I get good value on clearance items is when there is a big sale.
