I have checked the rendering of water, default and other types, in Vue 4 and I get wavy semi-parallel lines, almost like joins, going across the image. What is the solution to this problem? I am a new user and just have Vue 4 to work with, any help gratefully received :) I just did a quickie image to illustrate the point - and I know it has been asked before so hopefully there is a simple answer! Thanks all.

As far as I can make out, it is an effect of the repeatable pattern of the material that can be seen in certain lighting. If you just play a bit with the bump function (an excellent way of getting to grips with the Material Editor, by the way ;) ), then you can make them dissapear, without too much change to the overall appearance :) Hope that helps, Cheers

It's happening with all your water materials now, not just Default Water?? =:o

The Default Water has 2 bump layers in it, Noise-Smooth, and waves. Try selecting the Waves layer and on the left, below the window which has the bump names in it, lower the Amplitude setting. I was just trying it. I wasn't able to see the lines, but I have seen them before. The lighting has alot to do with it. But I was able to create the lines, with the Amplitude control, so that might also work to remove them.

Thanks for the info Mike; changing the amplitude down did solve the line problem. I tested the default water again and set the wave amplitude to 0.05 and it looked fine; need to experiment more with all those other functions!
