I'm going to move this to the Poser Forum, where you'll be more likely to get an answer.

Perhaps the solution is to add The Construct (as I have) or to add any type of surface to the scene to allow more light to bounce around ?

Make sure you have all the content updates as well, for Poser Pro 11.

infinity said to add the construct. It looks to me like it's already there. I'm going to suggest more lighting. If that doesn't work, post a screen shot of the advanced tab of the eyetrans shader and maybe your preview settings.

OK folks, The problem with the black eyes is: Materials. 1) might be using a glass shader in Superfly that needs caustics turned on to let you see through the glass. 2) shader is too reflective and reflecting the very dark construct. This is what I use for V4's eye surface and it works just as good on James. Again, Make sure you turn caustics on in your superfly render settings.

I've been having trouble with hazy eyes either using Superfly or Firefly, IDLs seem to fix it, but what can I do to correct this, there appears to be a second eyelid in the second textures renter. They both are M4 Characters.Cloudy Eyes 3.pngCloudy Eyes 2.png

I meant IBL lighting above, but it depends on the light sets. This seems to be happening on tests with all my human models except Paul. The bottom picture looks like he has double eyelids.

That's the "Tear" material; a layer of liquid resting between the lower lid and the eyeball itself. I agree it looks too much; perhaps it can be made invisible.

I usually turn off the Tear material. I never liked the way it renders.

Sorry to reopen an old thread but how do you turn off the tear material in poser 11? Thanks

bagginsbill ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2019 at 10:08 AM

Make the material 100% transparent like this.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
