THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: A voice from the past needs advice

skiwillgee ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2019 at 9:12 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 12:37 PM

I built a high end PC running Win10 (btw, I don't like Win 10 at all). I am having trouble getting Bryce to behave like it should. Two irksome issues are 1) moving selected objects in the edit menu causes the the object to move very unpredictably. 2) when I try to select a color via the color picker in lighting, material dte, ambience, difussion, sun color, haze color, etc... only results in grey scale. I found that using "alt+ctrl" I can access an RBG slider but that is cumbersome. Has anyone a suitable workaround for these or should I go back to my Win XP machine (which is still running fine).
I posted this at Daz also. I also noticed that many of the Daz model only show compatibility with Poser or Studio even though the descriptions indicate .obj format. Am I missing something here?
Hello Bryster, it has been a long time. Willie

Hi! Skiwillgee. Welcome back. I do have Bryce on my Win 10 machine but I lost the CD box with my code number to get it running. Until I find the box I couldn't tell you how Bryce runs. :-(

Win 10 is 64bit, bit that should be ok if you run Bryce in compatibility mode.

Also, you need to update the memory of Bryce with the Large Address Aware app for Bryce to see and access the large memories that your computer now has. It'll work wonders for Bryce and your sanity (not to mention, your hair or what's left of them. LOL)

Hey Bryster! You can always go to DAZ site and look it up under your account. I thought that when my last computer tanked, I would not have access to any more Bryce content but lo and behold. I just happened to open up my account on DAZ and there it was. It's under my account > my serial numbers.

Kiwi, I'm busy trying to finish my novel at the moment. Maybe I'll dig out the Scotsman soon.
