Probably not the most flattering face angle, but I'm sorting out her mouth, and seeing if extreme poses throws out any problems - it did. More corrections. A number of artists have rendered La Femme with a cunning hand covering the mouth. With good reason. So the idea is to sort out any problems so guys can render close ups of face without fear.(Not talking about Afrodite's pose above !) As well as changing the mouth area I have also adjusted La Femme's teeth so they look more natural. She is sporting Blackhearted's HD morphs on her hand. Anyway that's it for a while - need to sort out a smile for the new face shape and get the injection files working. If you have and constructive ideas - let me know.

LMAO! I guarantee it wasn't intentional. I have a pose set I made years ago for V4, that I ported into every figure I worked with after that and I'm now porting into La Femme, and that's one of the poses that would allow me to show the bracelet in a close up.
Anyway, I'm curious about what problem you found in La Femme's mouth! I haven't noticed anything strange.
As I said, I wasn't referring to yours. There are a few that cover up the mouth completely. Probably best I stay clear of any critique.
Please bear in mind that expression morphs and phoneme morphs and such are initially made to work with the base figure. This is true of ANY Poser figure, not only LaFemme.
If you create a character for ANY Poser figure that changes the shape of the mouth or eyes, the expression morphs and phoneme morphs will be affected and won't work quite exactly right with the character morph. Again, true of any figure, not only LaFemme. This is one of the reasons that you often see custom smile morphs and expressions done for an add on figure.

Yes, I'm aware of this. Can't say I had too much of a problem with V4, but Ulrika is too far away from the default La Femme for the included expression morphs to work too well. (They do work a bit ) I think part of the problem is that people attempt to use the face chips to create a smile and they end up distorting the face. They work for subtle expressions. Part of the problem I think is the low res nature of the head. I find sculpting a face in V4 much easier than La Femme due to the different mesh density.

Thanks. The longer, I spend on this, the better its going to get from a reality point of view.wish I had the talent to be able to sculpt a figure straight off, but if I persevere I eventually get what I want.

Thanks! Found a UV map error when I textured this one and had to go back and make some base changes. Finally got that all done and am nearing the morph stage of rigging.
Remind me though, no modeled buttons in the boob area ever again! Keeping those buttons from getting crushed was a whole fun game of "Restrict To: Materials Buttons" to keep their shape. Not hard, but definitely some rigging time expended. Not complaining, though. I remember a time when we didn't HAVE "Restrict To" and were left with the choice between no buttons and melted buttons, LOL.

You can say that again. I was one of the testers who actually requested that restriction feature

Looks good! It's nice to have a less distinctively La Femme face- reminds me of my niece when she was a teen. qaz posted at 7:58AM Sat, 04 May 2019 - #4351140

OT, I know, but I take here out from time to time. Here in her 'Posette 2003' version, an 'easyskin', some hair nicked from V4, and a simple dynamic tube dress.
No, those shoes are included in the Lolita Dress package! They came with it since the old V4 version (they just look better now that we have subdivision )

OK . . . Where's my chocolate?
I got a question. What is causing the white rings around the irises here?
They appear in the character promo renders, as well as in the library thumbnails, so I assume they are intentional, or at least built into the textures. Is there anything I can do to minimize them? I'm not sure what part of the eye that is.

It looks like it's probably built into the eye unfortunately. You could try creating a morph to smooth/relax that area.

I don't think it's built into the eye, because this is the only character with this issue. (At least, the only one I've purchased. I have bought several other skins for La Femme, and their eyes don't show this.) The eye textures themselves look fine. It's just when it's rendered that there's a white ring around the iris.
Well, I managed to fix it. I assume it's some issue with the procedurals or something. I tried applying a different material to the eye surface; that didn't work.
So I applied the eye material from another character, then went into the Material Room and swapped out the texture map only. It rendered fine that way. Eye color I wanted, no weird white rings. So I assume the issue is somewhere in the spaghetti of material nodes.
Love the results with SuperFly, but it's got quite a learning curve. Spent half the day trying to figure out why I was getting weird blocky shadows in one render. Turns out, I needed a higher "Max Transparent Bounces." I had it at 2, and 8 or 16 works a lot better. I have no idea what "Max Transparent Bounces" even is, but too low a number has ugly results in certain situations.

Max Transparent Bounces means that Superfly will stop at that many "bounces" before it attempts to continue rendering transparency. For instance, if you have transmap hair with many strips of polygons, a low number in that setting will mean it'll render the strips that are "over" (camera-related), and the ones below will be rendered as opaque strips. I tend to set it at 32 when I have hair on my scene.
With shadows being blocy, you might also benefit from increasing things like Pixel Samples and Max Bounces (the regular one).
Also keep in mind that "blocky" things in Superfly can be not enough polygons. It doesn't smooth polygons as well as Superfly, so you might need to increase subdivision of objects and figures in your scene.

Thanks, Afrodite-Ohki. It was indeed transmapped hair that was causing the problem. Took me awhile to even figure that out. I was turning off things in the Hierarchy editor see how it rendered without them. I thought it was the eyelashes at first, because it was only around the eye that there was a problem. But no, it was the hair.
I meant "as well as Firefly" above, just noticed that now
I'm glad you were able to solve your problem!
