Subject: Lock a body part?

How do you lock a specific body part in Poser?

Let's say I want to lock the abdomen and move only this hips or lock the hands and move only the chest with IK? I seem to recall in earlier versions there was a little tool somewhere that locked a body part in place...

under the object menu, there is a lock feature. Is that what you're working for?

Not quite. I thought there was a way to lock a single body part. The Lock feature you mention only locks the whole figure.

It locks the specific body part if you select it. Only if you have Body selected will it lock the entire figure. Les Bentley has created a set of Lock poses for all the various body parts and combinations which you can download here. They really help speed up the process of posing especially when using preset poses.

If your figure has other body parts you can open these in a text file and see how the pose is structured and create your own.

Awesome, this is perfect, thank you so much!

If you have SASHA-16, there's a similar set of "Lock / Unlock" poses in "Karina's Toolbox" (in the "Pose" library)

Cheers!
