Good news!

The fixed version is now available at SASHA's page:

http://sasha-16.forumprofi.de/t151f23-SASHA-Edition-is-here.html

I hope it's error free this time.

Before you install the new version, please delete ALL previously installed files in the Poser program's "runtimePythonposerScriptsscriptsMenuKarina"

Then install the new files and folders, overwriting the older ones.

Karina

First, want to thank you for Sasha...it's always most welcome to have V4 fitted with improvements/new options.

I just downloaded the newest 2019 Sasha version and gave her a little spin around the block...From the little I did experiment, all seems to be fine except for the "Y translate" which does not work. X and Z translates work fine, but the poor gal is stuck to the ground :)

Did I forget to do something?

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 12:33 PM

Just checked, yup - she can go L or R, backwards or forwards but neither up nor down; and if she's going to fly she needs to go up ..... Drop to floor doesn't work, either Morphs etc, ok. Clothing - well, I had to go back to the manual, but so far, so good. Was there a pdf version of the manual? I have a vague memory of one, but being rather old (80) and knackered can no longer trust the information my memory chooses to select. I'm sure I printed it out. But then, I'm sure of so many other things that might well be just warm illusions.

knyghtmare2021 ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 12:36 PM

So when you're trying to move Sasha up, are you using the body translation dials? Or the Hip dial? The body translation dail is locked, but the hip dial is not

goldie ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 12:45 PM

Well, I was able to "Y translate" by selecting the hip. But when I did a "restore" figure, the "Y translate" finally worked when body selected and retained all injected morphs. Very strange.

KarinaKiev ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 12:54 PM · edited Wed, 26 June 2019 at 1:00 PM

@knyghtmare2021 is right:

You shouldn't translate ANY figure's body by the BODY yTranslate dial, nor should you EVER translate a figure's hip by the X and Z trans dials.

You can read more about the reasons if you read SASHA's manual, chapter 2.4. The "Movement Control" **

However, if you still want to end up with figures out of control, and messed-up poses, you can turn this SASHA feature OFF in the BODY actor**

Special SASHA CONTROLS >-Movement Control < OFF - ON> ---> set 0.000 Special SASHA CONTROLS >--Allow Hip Horizontal Translation --->set 1.000

Good luck! 😇

That setup is not intuitive. The body translation dials for X and Z are not locked. If one can move the "body" X and Z, one should also move it Y. If one wants to translate or rotate the whole body, it seems to be more logical to have all those parameter dials in the body, not in the hip.

@goldie:

You should always be careful with a Poser "Restore Figure", because that's the equivalent to a 20-pound sledge hammer. It resets ALL morphs to either their "initValue" s, or to whatever you "memorized" previously! I never use this "feature" for a reason!

Instead, better use one of the Zero Poses in the "Karina's Tool Box":

Or just spawn a new instance of SASHA...

I'm sorry that I can't help you more today, but most of this is due to Poser's internal workings, and there's nothing I can do to change THAT.

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 1:24 PM

Now thta's odd. I always select the 'body' when I use 'translate' up, down, left, right, backwards or forwards; for V4, M4 or Lafemme etc But I wil certainly look at Chapter 2.4 for Sasha controls. 'Drop to floor' though, should surely work?

Thanks for your reply. I read that section in your manual, but to be honest, in all the years I've used Poser--going on 20 years--I have never encountered any of the scenarios you discussed. As for restore figure, I use it often, as well as "Joint Editor," without any issues. But, as with most things, there's always a first time :)

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 1:50 PM

The y-movement is locked. Both x and z are free. So I altered the settings to allow free y-movement and (a) she goes up and own as we want, and (b) will now 'drop to floor'.

I just hope nobody is offended by all this, but I can now move Sasha 2019 'body' in any direction, just as I could V4 and the others.

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 1:50 PM

And, please don't get me wrong, I like Sasha.

randym77 ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 2:18 PM

I've always moved the body of figures, too, and never had any problems. Is Sasha more likely to have problems if you do that than other figures are?

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Wed, 26 June 2019 at 2:21 PM

I shall spend the rest of this evening testing. I have uploaded one picture this evening - using Sasha and a V4 morph, hair, etc. Looks and bends ok.

I was trying to copy morphs from Sasha to a V4 jacket, and got this; and I haven't got a clue what it means,Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 21.09.12.png

KarinaKiev ( ) posted Thu, 27 June 2019 at 10:09 AM · edited Thu, 27 June 2019 at 10:14 AM

I see some have problems with SASHA's "Movement Control", which accidentally set to ON in the figure.

Here's how to switch it OFF:

Select the BODY, then go to the parameters group > SPECIAL SASHA CONTROLS and set the three dials marked with a yellow dot to the values you see in this picture (values repeated in yellow just in case):

!MovementControlOff.jpg

Now you can handle SASHA like any other figure.

To find out what the Movement Control does and how you profit from it, you should read chapter 2.4. The "Movement Control" in the manual.

You'll find the full manual (in html format) in the library: It's in the fourth folder in SASHA's setup. Just click the library icon!

I'll try to answer more questions from this thread later after I return home again.

I haven't been able to get it to work at all. I may be doing something wrong but for the record, I copied the Application Runtime folder to my application, as directed and the Karina Runtime to one of my several other Runtimes. All I get on attempting to load is a Python error message.

Hello Sam,

did you get it to work with the new download version?

I noticed that in the previous one (released on Monday) the Python scripts were in the wrong folder (--> fixed in the new download).

Because the SASHA loader script also checks for the Python files (which it couldn't find of course), you got that error message.

Before you install the updated version, please check: The Python scripts should only be in "runtime/Python/poserScripts/Karina" folder!

All the other scripts in

"runtime/Python/poserScripts/scriptsMenu/Karina"

folder can be deleted except for "Scripts Info.py"

(To be absolutely on the safe side, just delete BOTH "Karina" folders in the "runtime/Python/*.*" hierarchy, then install the new version).

Sorry for the hassle :/

No, SASHA isn't any more likely to have problems with that than other figures. After all, it's just a function set to the wrong default (because i use her like that all the time)

Just turn off "Movement Control" as described in my post above, and all is fine!

Whew, that's something new! I never had this before, and as a fact SASHA needs no Python scripts to work at all (except for the initial setup, but that one isn't written using tkInter).

Maybe it's something to do with the "copy" function? How do you proceed to copy the morphs into the jacket?

The normal Poser menu command, or do you use some external script? Or maybe D3D's (very good!) "MorphingClothes"? (Though that's an .exe file and shouldn't need Python at all)

The more precisely you describe what causes this error message to pop up, the higher the probability that I (or a MAC user) can reproduce/trace the source for this error!

Thank you!

And thank you ALL for your input hitherto - very appreciated!

Sonya heart.jpg

I prefer this much over frustrated users trying her once, run into a problem, shrug shoulders and shelve her indefinitely...

Regards,

Karina! 😀

Frontal view.

  • The NGM V4 morphs don't work nicely with Sasha, you have to modify the minimum/maximum settings.
  • Set her height at 1.70m (average Caucasian woman) , conformed V4 clothing and shoes to Sasha, then reduced these to 87% and so far everything fits nicely.

Hello Sam,

No, not "coming soon". That's licensed by another company already 😄

Did you did "Activate the KarinaVagina" during the initial setup process?

Then you'll find all

  • shape and fit morphs in the BODY actor, "> BODY SHAPE > KV SHAPE" dials group.

  • "action" morphs and dials in the KarinaVagina" actor itself, "> ### PLAY-> ACTION" group.

.

If you forgot to activate the KV, you can do it anytime later:

Just go back to the setup folder and activate it now;

after that there's a new folder in the BODY actor "> ! NOTIFICATIONS !": "-> SUCCESS: KarinaVagina Activated" (scroll down the parameters pallette)

regards,

Karina

Hello @darthJ:

Long time no see my friend!

Re. the NGM morps:

Actually, I think those are anyting but "natural" in their "fully dialled in" version, and SASHA's weightmaps weren't built to support such extreme ( pardon me : "udders"). 😁

Thank you for posting your nice renders, and for the funny idea of making the "Rendered with..." a tattoo on her buttcheek. It really put a smile on my face, and I needed just that!

regards,

Karina

DarthJ ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2019 at 4:25 PM

No, you don't use the NGM morphs at 100 % (as many morphs) for best results but compared with the original silicone shape of V4 they are a vast improvement and much more realistic looking, I speak of ... ehhh ... experience. Besides, there is an extra "petite" NGM set for V4 if you prefer small. Though what happens is that the minimum and maximum limit settings for each of those morphs have become 100.000 instead of 1 which completely distorts the figure. Now check your own site to find out what I have done there.
