Subject: What hair is this?

randym77 ( ) posted Sat, 03 August 2019 at 11:42 PM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 8:40 AM

Used in the main promo pic:

A DS hair, I'm guessing. Anyone know which one it is?

And is there anything similar for Poser?

Dang. The link was there. It's been removed. I'm not sure why, since it was to a Rosity Marketplace product.

Maybe it will work if I don't make it clickable:

It's "VYK_IRAY Expansion - Antonio by vyktohria"

To answer your question: It's to be used with Michael 4, so the figure is no problem. It's an expansion set, but it doesn't list a main set. Apparently, it can only be used in DS 4.8 or higher, and that's because of Iray shaders. I did check the many of the hairs DAZ has on sale for M4. They also seem usable in Poser, although if it's a Genesis hair, you might need the DSON Importer. Hope that helps.

It looks like WildMane Hair, in the Daz store. It was originally done for M4/V4 and has both DS and Poser versions. Re-released later for Genesis1.

Sorry, no idea but will say I'm to the point that if any additional items shown in the promo's aren't listed, especially now that there is a specific tab for them. I don't bother buying the product.

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?

Thank you! That does look like it. I apparently bought that hair years ago. I didn't even remember it.

While I won't go that far (yet), I'll say that it makes sense to list every item in the promos. It ultimately will generate more sales as people try to reproduce what they see. I will go the other way and say I'm more inclined to buy a product and the various add-ons if the vendor lists everything in the promo's.

When available that's fine but a lot of content is no longer available or it's at a different store, or its custom. The hair in this promo for example looks much less bushy than the default hair model, which is why I wasn't sure if that was actually the right model, just a lucky guess. Not sure if it has morphs to flatten it that much or if that's a custom morph.

It does have morphs to flatten it. It has a ton of morphs.

I remember Neftis' hair as being beautiful, but being so resource-heavy Poser would frequently crash trying to render it.

No longer a problem. I guess that's one advantage to using old products. ;-)
