Subject: POSER 5 crash?

Royfitz ( ) posted Wed, 21 August 2019 at 9:10 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 9:20 AM

No idea what has happened... When I start Poser 5 I get a message saying 'Poser/runtime/preferences/poser.ini has been lost.'

NOTHING will open or load.

If I go into explorer and look at the file structure everything seems to be there.

Any ideas? I'm totally stuffed.

What's your operating system? You didn't post that info.

Sorry - a bit ancient, but Windows 7

You may have to reinitialize poser by deleting the old post .ini file. It may have been corrupted.

Where do I find it?

According to the warning message it says'poser/runtime/prefs/poser.ini' but there's no such thing in the folder.

I don't really know. At the moment am without my computer. The Poser.ini and such files are in C:UsersYourNameAppDataRoamingPoser . That's the directory where all those type of files, including the UI preferences, are saved, not within the Poser installation. May be different for you're setup. I would do a global search on your computer for poser.ini file.

Many thanks chaps. I sorted it by reinstalling the entire program and contents which I fortunately have backed up on a pile of DVD's. All working again...

Great! That was going to be my next recommendation. The last one really.
