Just a test of the depth of field feature in Bryce 5 (demo). It turned out great, and I'm glad that this can now be done inside Bryce, but, I can still achieve d.o.f. faster if I do it manually. That, and with this test I also tried to make the sun itself have soft shadows...not possible, it's a bug for now. Only (radial, spot)lights can achieve soft shadowing right now. This render took around two hours to do, the larger one in my gallery tok around four. Take a look if ya want.

here's a trick for the sun's soft shadows, apply it in the skylab, let the preview window in there render out, then save that sky as a preset, then return to the main window screen and re-apply the sky you just saved, yes it's a small bug, being worked out though.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Oh, man...it freaking works! Thanks Clay! I appreciate it. And, this was just done with regular a.a., consider me a happy camper. AgentSmith

OK, see if I understand what I hope yopu may be saying.... If I create a sky or use one of the presets, and then select the "Soft shadows", let the nano preview do it's thing, and then select the preset triangle and save it, it will save the soft shadow selection? The only way I know now on how to get the Sun to soft shadow is to manually play with the settings. DO NOT, I repeat, do not use or click on any of the quick presets. They seem to negate the soft shadow button. Maybe Corel will get wind of this and fix it. We can onlt hope. ;-) James
