Subject: Transparency problem in Poser Preview

novelist999 ( ) posted Sun, 01 September 2019 at 10:04 AM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 10:12 AM

A skirt on a dress I purchased is showing up as transparent in the preview box, making it difficult to pose. What's likely causing this? In older versions of Poser, this problem sometimes came up, and I'd just go to "preview" in the material settings and change the diffuse color, and that would fix the problem. But that's not working in Poser 11--or at least on this dress.

Hi- I use Scene Fixer for those issues with older model textures sometimes not showing in P11. Download it from here: http://snarlygribbly.org/poser/

After installing the python, I use the following settings on the figure I want to fix:

scenefixer.JPG

It fixes some settings for older versions of Poser with transparencies, diffuse color, etc. I hope it works for you.

Thanks. That looks awesome! I'll have to give it a try.

Hello novelist999.

If you select the item of clothing that you are having the problem with, go into the materials room where it will show that the item has a transparent percentage tagged to it. If you move the slider to 0% transparency and go back to your main screen the item will be completely opaque and present no difficulty with posing.

When you are happy with the pose, go back into the materials room and reset the transparency percentage of the item back to where it was.

A fix i found completely by accident, but it worked.

Pat :)
