I have gotten into the habit of installing all content manually via two Windows File Explorer windows. One has the zip open, one has the folder where I want to install and I manually drag and drop every folder to exactly where I want it. Easy and painless, it lines up everything and I have no more annoying 'daz purchased unzips never show up because there is an extra Content folder over Runtime'.

That's EXACTLY how I do it as well. I've always preferred to install manually, because it gives me the opportunity to see exactly what's included, and then I can put them where I want them, though not the Geometries, Textures and anything for the Libraries > Morphs folder. Those must stay as the zips have them set up.

OK . . . Where's my chocolate?
Thank you for the feedback. However, I think I may not have been clear in my original post. I am running Poser on a Mac, so I'm not sure if the Windows solutions apply...? In addition, I cannot, for the life of me, open these folders (like one is called PoserPremiumContent_3DScenery_01.zip. If I double-click on that, it opens toPoserPremiumContent_3DScenery_01.zip.cpgz. If I then double-click on that, it opens PoserPremiumContent_3DScenery_01 2.zip, and it would just go 'round in circles, opening and re-creating the same 2 files. I never get to see what's actually living inside the folder! I'm truly baffled...
When trying to install using the install from zip archive, this only works if the runtime folder in the zip file is a top level file. If for instance there is a folder in the zip file that contains the runtime file then it doesn't work. Then the only way is to manually unzip the file then merge it with the runtime you want to contain it. How you do this differs I believe between windows and Mac. In windows you can drag and drop, but I've never used a Mac, however I assume there is a way of merging folders rather than the new one replacing the old.
I was able to open the zip folders to see the folders inside using StuffIt Expander. From there I just started moving the necessary data manually. Took a while, and not everything is working perfectly, but I'm getting there. I'm sure there are better ways of doing this and I'm probably still doing some things wrong, but as a great Captain once said, "We learn by doing." Thanks again for all the feedback.
when you see the .cpgz it usually means the download is corrupt. Try and download the file again with a different browser. By the way, i am on mac. Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
@mjgabriele it sounds as though you have the zip file type associated with the wrong application. if you double click to open and it gets automatically compressed, that is not normal behaviour from the Archive Utility.app
Looking at this link How to open a zip that turns into a cpgz fie
Please note that I am not promoting the Unarchiver, merely observing that the web page has an explanation of what might be occurring.
Stuffit expander is a very good tool, though sometimes it can have trouble with encrypted .RAR files (though that's not your problem) For those I use Keka.
Verbosity: Profusely promulgating Graham's number epics of complete and utter verbiage by the metric monkey barrel.
I can't remember how i fixed the issue when i had this. it is only the occasional file that does this, but I probably used the unarchiver too, like an0malaus says. http://osxdaily.com/2013/02/13/open-zip-cpgz-file/

in fact if i right click on a file

Used to have that problem until I invested in real archiving tools like StuffIt and Expander for the Mac. Seems the onboard version included in OS has problems with some .zip files. Another try is to put the zip files in a separate folder on the Desktop and unzip them there so the unzipped folders open in a contained folder. See if that works. I got into the habit of doing that so I could find the un-archived content folder and thus install manually as recommended above. I use a way different method of setting up my Runtime folders the un-archiver does not understand. So I gave up on i a long time go. 2 window manual install is the best for me anyway.

I recently upgraded to 11.2, running on a mac. The HiveWire content was added easily. The Legacy Content and LeFemme zips won't add via "Install from zip archive (path set to Poser 11 Content)," and if I double-click on a folder a dialog box flashes by faster than a speeding bullet and it creates another folder, a .cpgz file. If I double-click on that, it creates a copy of the first folder. What am I doing wrong?
