Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 12:39 am)
Speaking of 'new' things - has anyone been able to find a way to create an account over on the https://support.posersoftware.com/portal/home site? Apparently I wasn't sent an invite or it was lost in the mail - but I can't find any way to create / register my 11 Pro there.
Also - I found the site uses several 3rd party links to zoho... Trying to connect to the new Smith-Micro site I had to drop my security a few notches before that invitation would work - and their new site looks a lot like the posersoftware site.
Rob - lol - now that's really funny. Smith Micro owned & sold Poser for the past many years - and I only mentioned them in passing - trying to get my licensed copy of Smith-Micro Poser 11 Pro to activate ... https://www.smithmicro.com/2019/06/20/smith-micro-announces-sale-of-its-poser-3d-rendering-animation-software/
I was never sent the notice Smith-Micro sold Poser to Bondtech or whoever it is that now owns & sells the app (and apparently owns Renderosity, too).
And, you missed the inflection that the new Smith-Micro site uses Zohoportal, just like the new PoserSoftware.com site uses Zoho for account login and management. The new posersoftware support site is here: https://support.posersoftware.com/portal/newticket
Gwild, when I installed the update it activated automagically.
As for as the support site goes, I too see no way to create an account. Neither my Renderosity nor SmithMicro credentials work, so I don't know how one manages one's licenses, other than possibly by submitting a support ticket...

I missed the inflection for sure and I had no idea what a Zohoportal was! Thanks for info and taking it easy on me, bro!

You don't need to register an account, you just need to submit a ticket. Just fill out the form. Make sure you get your serial number right. And get the verification letters at the bottom correct. Then submit. Also, if you know anything about what computer you're on, such as Processor, how much RAM and your graphics card and driver, add that. Someone should contact you within a day or two. That's how it worked for me. Don't forget to write a discription of what your problem is and what Poser is or isn't doing.

Thanks for the info. No, I'm not having any problems. The "update" seems to be gigantic. It seems that it's just the entire applicaiton. So, maybe I'll wait a bit. I expected just a small update that would parse into the app.
The update was mostly a "rebranding" under the Bondware name and, yes it did some re-licensing issues as well. And it's been three, going on four, years since PP11 came out, so I'm not complaining at all. I only wish that Renderosity would take my WISH seriously and fix Superfly by adding a few of the missing nodes. There are plenty of Cycles materials out there that Poser could use but a few of the essential nodes are missing.

I get messages that there's an update to Poser 11.2, the Macintosh version. But it looks like a lot to download. So, I'm hesitating. What is new in this latest update, can anyone tell me. If it's something small, maybe I'll wait for the next update.
