Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
That would certainly be great if they could.
_______________
OK . . . Where's my chocolate?
Yes, the news is true. And, as soon as we organize everything, we'll be bringing many of these models to Renderosity.
We haven't decided what to do about previous purchases made at PoserWorld. The agreement was for the products, so we don't have access to any customer information, which means we have no way to verify a purchase. For now, it's best to download to your previous purchases from PoserWorld before it closes.
VanishingPoint... Advanced 3D Modeling Solutions
I always loved (most of) the things I got from Poserworld, have been a lifetime member for over a decade. Alas, they fell on hard times, as have many others in the Poser universe. Much as I dislike what has happened, I do wish them well. My Pops used to say, "Nothing is guaranteed. You pays your money and takes your chances."

FYI All - PoserWorld is back-on line, the main store and the club-site. I am the administrator, reach out if you have any problems getting in.
Hey, you said you would let me know when PoserWorld was back up and running so I could add you to the Poser Content Directory.
I've used mine, so I'd say yes. Try here 3dfig for the membership downloads

It could have been worse.
Way back, before Yahoo! went down the tubes, there was talk of a merger between them and Google. I suggested the new enterprise should be called Yahoogle! or GooHoo!
Even worse:
20 odd years ago, I worked for Aon, who were known as Aon Risk Services over here. They were considering rebranding their European business, and I helpfully suggested Aon Risk Services Europe, which they were rather pleased with, until some spoilsport pointed out that it spelled "Arse", the Brit version of "Ass". I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for them meddling kids!

Thank you. I've been wondering this myself as I'm trying to get back into Poser since being gone for a long time. I know it's all old content, but it gives me something to play with since I don't have a lot of money to get new stuff.
Remember...getting lost is the senic route to the eventual destination. (And a lot prettier than the straight road)
I never joined. I found Poserworld back when I first started with Poser, and back then, you could download to your hearts content because everything was free! This was back in the days of Fairyworld and before DAZ became an actual store. Around Poser 4 though, I did spring for some CDs that had a crap load of stuff on them.

I received today an email from Vanishing Point saying that "Vanishing Point is excited to announce that as of this weekend, September 22, 2018, we have agreed to acquire over 500 assets from PoserWorld. These include buildings, military model s, furniture and household items, sports and recreation, transportation, plants, and clothing for figures such as M4, V4, and Dawn. All of these models are in Poser format and should work in all versions of Poser from version 6 and above. We'll also further develop these assets into other formats, such at DAZ Studio, Vue d'Esprit, obj / 3ds, and more.".
Poser World's headpage https://poserworld.com/ says that "The Poser World 3D Model Store is closing Sept. 30th, 2018. Please download your purchases before Sept. 30, as they will no longer be available after that date. We will continue to make custom 3D models on commission after the store closes.".
