So I went and spent the last year conquering IRay over in Daz. Whats the best place to go begin to understand super fly now back here in Poser? I used Poser a lot but never really got to use or understand Superfly and its intricacies.

Dimension3D's Introduction to Superfly is comprehensive and with great examples. You can also do a search here and in the old Smith Micro Poser forum.

Just a note- Superfly doesn't work with RTX video cards. Someone really needs to fix this.

Yes, I have read several comments about the RTX cards and rendering with SuperFly. I just ordered a new laptop a few days ago, and that was the first customization I dealt with, because I use the SuperFly render engine more often these days, and certainly don't want to have to deal with it crashing because of the GPU video card I chose. Hopefully, the Poser dev team will come up with a fix for this issue sooner, rather than later.

"Superfly doesn't work with RTX video cards"

This week from NVIDIA, a new... "NVIDIA Studio Driver that supports RTX-accelerated ray tracing in Blender Cycles".

Since SuperFly is basically Cycles, it can presumably only be a matter of time before we have an RTX-enabled Poser. In Poser 12 perhaps? Though I guess the market is small at present, re: not many having the required $1,000+ shiny new graphics card. Personally I'd rather have real-time via OpenGL, in something stable like U-Render rather than a moving target work-in-progress like Eevee. But I guess both approaches could be added to Poser 12.

Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, Superfly is "very" basically Cycles. I work in Blender, though don't do many final renders in Blender, as I use it more for modeling and uv mapping, rather than producing final renders with Cyles. There are a lot of nice things in Cycles I would love to see in SuperFly, but I don't know when, or even if, most of them will happen any time soon.

Here's hoping support for nVidia RTX cards will happen with PoserPro 12, but I couldn't wait until then to get a new laptop.

Superfly is the Poser version of Cycles circa 2015. It does need an update ;)
