Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:03 am)
Did you run the DSON Importer installer to put it in the runtime where the application resides. NOT the shared folder (I use a Mac, so if you are on Windows, the terminology is different)? If so, a DSON Support item would appear on your scripts menu. DForce does not work in Poser at all. Poser uses the Cloth room to do the same thing. Genesis 3 and 8 content does not work in Poser unless you use @willdial's free utility; you can find discussion of that on this forum. I've never used it, so I can't help you. Have you installed your DAZ 3D Library in Poser by clicking the plus button? If so, Genesis and Genesis 2 products should appear therein, and the DSON thingy will run when you add something to the scene. DSON is slow as molasses in January, so I would recommend that you investigate the posted information about converting DSON content to Poser native.
I installed the Runtime under My Daz3d Library using the plus button. As I mentioned, I installed the DSON importer using DAZ Install Manager. Nothing showed up in the scripts menu in Poser. In the DAZ install manager folder, 'C:UsersPublicDocumentsDAZ 3DInstallManagerDownloadsIM00014897-02_DSONImporterforPoserWin64bitPoser_Pro 2014;Pro 2012_(64-Bit)' appeared. There were two subfolders; a Python folder and a Geometry folder. I manually placed these two folders in the runtime for downloads. Nothing still shows up in the scripts menu on Poser. However, in Poser, DSON ran when I added a Genesis character to the scene. I thought that they loaded fairly quickly. So, I have the Genesis characters in my library and DSON is activated when I load one of them. However, there is still nothing in the Scripts menu. I couldn't find a discussion of the @willdial's free utility on this forum. Nothing came up when I searched for it. I will continue to look. Thanks for your help.

I installed the update. I installed the Genesis content including the DSON Importer, DForce, and Starter Essentials using the DAZ Install Manager. On the Poser screen, DSON is only mentioned as an Add-In under the Windows menu. It is not mentioned under scripts. In My DAZ 3d Library, there is a DSON folder with a sub-folder called 'auto-adapted'. Inside the 'auto-adapted' sub-folder, there is a contents folder and a data folder. In the My DAZ 3d Library, there is a Runtime folder and a People folder which contain the content that I want to use.
What do I do now in order to use the Genesis content in Poser?
