Subject: Upgrading to 11.3 Does anyone know the answers?

deeahr2169 ( ) posted Tue, 31 March 2020 at 5:07 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 10:20 AM

I have been trying to figure out how to upgrade from 11.2 to 11.3 since yesterday. I am a Mac user but that shouldn't make too much difference, and since I posted my frustrations last night no one has answered. I follow every link I can find time after time and every time it leads me to a download page for 11.2. I tried the links thee to obtain the installers, but as I would have expected they don't work presumably because the relate to 11.2 which is already installed. Please someone tell me how to obtain the installers for 11.3. Also do I need to completely remove 11.2 from my machines before trying to install 11.3. It would be nice to hear from someone, but as I have this fear that I am too dim to understand the process I won't yet and shout about this...

https://www.posersoftware.com/downloads is the link you need. If the page is saying Poser 11.2, then there is probably an issue with your browser. You need to clear your cache and refresh the page. If you see 11.3 on the page but your install is still saying 11.2, there's an issue with your install. There are others with that problem too. Here's one thread that talks about it. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2944725 there are others both in the poser 11 forum and the poser official forum. Some have found uninstalling before reinstalling helps, others found they needed to redownload the program. Some of the download servers are taking their sweet time to update their cache or something.

Thank you for the reply and the information which is most helpful and kind of you. I have installed 11.3 by following the link to the correct download page as shown in your reply. However, and there always seems to be one of those. I installed Reality 4 for Poser in the old version, and now find its no longer showing in 11.3. I had to use the Snarlygribbly fix to install Reality and I followed the install path and find everything is intact, so what's happening there...Again thanks in advance for any info

OK installed the fix again in total and that's that sorted. Now I find that the library has no content at all, and I have no idea how to add content so maybe its back to studying the manual. Seem to me that this upgrade is causing me, and maybe others, more problems that take time to figure out...

For the library, some people have reported that just restarting Poser fixed that. Others needed to turn on the refresh on launch. Edit>gereral preferences library tab check the box for refresh on launch.

I haven't updated yet myself, but in the last update, I remember that the first load or two of the library took a while to show. I don't know if that's the case here, but you may also just need a little patience.
