Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
I don't know the first thing about exporting from DAZ but one thing to check is where the Cr2 is looking for V4. Open in Cr2Editor and see what it says.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
Good call SamTherapy.
Lacking a Cr2 Editor, append the V4 cr2 with .txt and open in a text editor. You'll find the references as FigureResFile (there's 2), one at the start of the cr2 and the second a bit further down...

Oh. Thanks hborre.
Maybe this Editpad lite does that too. I just automatically append out of habit. I have too many text editors and cr2 editors now lol. Us Poser users tend to collect piles of things, for me it's a rather strange tendency because otherwise I'm very minimalist about possessions. Anyway, OT.

How were the morphs generated for V4? If it involved any of the morph packages, your friend would need those same packages installed in Poser. I could try but whatever I have installed in DAZStudio is also installed into Poser. So I can't test the export function.
OP stated that V4 isn't appearing. Just Andy.

I think he meant that he opens a poser scene, with the default Andy, and tries to load the V4 cr2 that was exported from DS and V4 doesn't load. Just still Andy there. It sounds like some kind of file path or content library confusion.
Being that you're an experienced Poser and DS user you could probably get to the bottom of the problem but as you said there's really not enough info to go on. Shrug.

A friend of mine wanted a character I'd created. I work in DAZ and he works in Poser. I created the character using V4. I created a pose file (dsa) and sent it to him. I told him to load V4 into DAZ, load all of V4 morphs, and then run the pose file. That worked, so then I told export it as a CR2 file and load that into Poser. That didn't work all he gets is the default guy. Any ideas?
