No. That's dead as of now (poserfushion) an older version(C4d) with an older (Poser Pro 2014 & The fusion plugin) will work. But they (Maxon) changed something which required plugins to be redone recompiled for the new version of C4D and a updated Poser plugin isn't available @ the moment.

A forum moderator reported that poser fusion is officially EOL. ?. you can export FBX from poser 11.x.

Did anyone ever give a reason WHY they're ending Poserfusion? Apparently it's still in use/demand.

Who knows, I rather they focus all their attention on the core program itself for now, And then work on all the other things later. I guess they could FBX as Wolf said

Shade3D v.16E (not the latest, which I can't afford) is 4 years old, but still quite capable. Its PoserFusion interface had no problem importing a scene from Poser 11.3 (beta).

I'd certainly like to see it maintained, though not at the expense of delaying the release of Poser 12.

I don't think Poser was ever a really high priority with Smith Micro, to be honest with you. After all, they're more of a Internet communications company. Compuer graphics was more of a sidetrack for them.

It was ended so that the small team of developers can devote their time and attention to the core program.

That's the part I don't understand. Did they change something in Poser so it wouldn't work anymore?

It isn't poser that changes, it is the programs that poserfusion bridges that change, the development staff don't have the manpower to keep up with all the programs that poserfusion was written for.

in poser pro 11.3, the FBX format does not work with the morphs of the characters...and the accessories ("parent" of the character) lose the textures...is for that poserfusion is better... that's why I will not buy pose pro 12, if the FBX format is not better manage, I will switch to daz3d ...

Because you're sure it will work, or because it's "free"?

jibicoco ( ) posted Tue, 21 April 2020 at 4:41 AM

even if the plugin is paid, but it works from daz3d to cinema4d r21, yes I will go to daz3d just for that ...

Have you asked a Dev for any support or if there is a work around for your problem? I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I'm still stumped as to why there seems to be no work around from Poser. I understand that people say that they rather the dev team work on more important stuff, but this is important and apparently to more than just a few.

This is why I do not not beleive in third party bridges as the single point of failure in my pipeline and will and only use industry standard transfer formats going forward., (FBX ,.obj/MDD or Alembic)

@jibicoco you have a few options to explore now that poser fusion is officialy dead.

I made a 92 minute feature length animated film"Galactus Rising" that I statred with Poser 6 figures and the (now long dead) "interposer pro" plugin for C4D.

https://youtu.be/oHFE7dbIOd4

It was completed by exporting pre-animated Daz genesis 1,2,3 figures from Daz studio, as .obj/MDD files to render in C4D using the (now long dead) "Riptide pro" .obj.MDD loader plugin.

I have since switched to a direct Iclone to Blender pipeline Via Alembic as Daz is in a Delusional state of denial about their joke of a "foot pinning" system in the latest DS version that they are claiming is an IK solver.( but I digress).?

That said ,Daz studio does have a very good FBX exporter to lightwave and Blender.

https://youtu.be/7hSW7H8RVjY

MY C4D R11.5 was far too old for a a useful test with the latest version of FBX But I assume your C4D is more recent.

I am given to undertand the poser now exports to Alembic as well but if it is not the latest ogowa(sp?) format , I would recommend not even bothering with it..?
