Subject: anybody using crossdresser to convert clothing?

I may have asked this before so please forgive. I've tried using the fitting room and I hate it and the fit helpers may work but not for the figures I'm using. I really don't want to spend hours converting one item. I just want to click and be done with the f***ing thing. I guess I could get one module but that's still 10 bucks down the drain if I hate it.

I use it in preference to the fitting room. It's not perfect by any means, but it is the most generally reliable tool I have found, including wardrobe wizard.

I find it depends on the item you are converting. I have gotten some really excellent results with converting, but also some meh ones. Overall tho, I prefer Xdresser to any other way of converting. Easy to use, and the results are mostly pretty good.

I have to agree with DreaminGirl that the outcome depends on the model you're converting. That said, Crossdresser is easy to use for a quick conversion but also gives you many options should you like to have more control. Keep in mind that I've only converted from V4 to La Femme so my experience is limited but I've been satisfied with the results and in some cases even footwear, which is not supported, converted well. Here's an example where I converted 3D-Age's Dress Up II for V4. Crossdresser gives you the option of adding handles to skirts for better movement which is a plus.

I like Crossdresser ... easy to use, works quite fine.

Boots for A3, Dress for V4 - both converted to BJD (OK and I used Morphing clothes on them to add the BJD Type 2 morphs):

How does crossdresser do with helper bones? neither wardrobe wizard nor the fitting room handles those well.

OK it turned out that Evil Innocence had a sale on the bundle in 2015 and I had bought the whole thing. Probably got frustrated and just forgot about it. I've converted a couple jackets and it works pretty good for that.

@RedPhantom looks like there is a feature to remove bones from a figure and also a feature to add handles to a skirt. I'll investigate.

remove bone removes the geometry for that bone. I don't understand how that is useful. a pair of thigh boots converted but the toes were off kilter and I figured that remove bone would fix that. Anyone know what to do when you want to convert and have it ignore the toe bone?
