Subject: Old issues still present on new Poser Pro.

Hello. !

Until a few days ago, I was using Poser Pro 11.2 on an iMac running on OS El Capitan with 32 Go of memory. Now I have a new iMac with Catalina 10.15.6, 8 GB of memory and a Wacom Intuos Pro Large PTH860 graphics tablet with the last driver (6.3.40-2) directly USB connected to the iMac.

I installed the trial version of Poser Pro 11.3.818 on it, … During my first few tries I discovered (horrified) that the issues I had with the iMac El Capitan are still present on the new iMac Catalina !

  1. Poser’s camera orientation movements aren’t smooth, but with occasional sharp jerks, when the image is not suddenly upside down !
  2. It often happens when I modify a character’s part of body, the movement I have just given goes partly in the other direction as if a spring held this part of the body.
  3. Sometimes it also happens when I select a body part of a character, the "Library" window suddenly don’ t react to this new selection and gets stuck on the previous select. Then if I want to use the "Render" image function, the main window briefly displays the previous rendered image then turns uniformly gray and nothing more could happens.

Fortunately, I can still save my image, but I have to close the image file and quit Poser. Then I relaunch Poser, reload my image file so I can finally continue using Poser, until the next malfunction. This happens once or twice per hour of use.

Poser’s general preferences are configured with Tablet mode on.

What must I do so that my problems are eliminated ? Thank you for your answers

I hate to say it but the build 818 is buggy as hell. If you can, then downgrade to an earlier build for more stability.

  1. On parented cameras (face, hand, posing, and any orbit camera set to "orbit selected") on the camera's Properties put a check next to "Limit Orbit to 360" This should stop cameras from flipping upside down.
  2. I suspect you are bending a body part in the middle of an active IK chain. For example bending a thigh when the IK is on for that foot. Try Turning off IK for the limb you are editing.
  3. Selecting any body part should have no affect on the library. If selecting a body part is changing the library view please file a report with support. I've never seen this actually happen. Please include exact steps to make this happen.

If your scene is slow when posing try setting your preview mode to "Smooth Shaded"

Also if the figures in your scene are set to subdivide in the Preview you can turn it down to 0 and only have it set for Render. Having subdivision show in Preview for populated scenes slow them down A LOT!
