Subject: Creature Creator not working

randym77 ( ) posted Mon, 26 October 2020 at 6:54 AM · edited Sat, 04 January 2025 at 9:18 PM

With Halloween approaching, I wanted to give M4 and V4 vampire teeth, and dusted off the old Creature Creator morph packs from DAZ. But I can't get the teeth part of them to work. The INJ CREATURE V4 pose works, but does not inject the teeth morphs. (It does inject a lot of other morphs, which work as expected.) Using the individual morph injection poses doesn't seem to work. I've looked in the body, the head, and the jaw, and the "Vampire Teeth" morph isn't there.

I tried downloading and reinstalling, and re-initializing, and it didn't help. I know the teeth morphs used to work, because I used them before (but not for years). What am I doing wrong?

The only 2 issues I can think of is either you may have more than one install of M4 and V4 or the morph package is located elsewhere, not in the same runtime as the models.

I don't think either of those applies. I wonder if the problem is the needed injection channels are already in use.

I tried restarting Poser and starting with a base V4/M4, no morphs injected. It didn't work. I rebooted the computer, and tried again, and then it worked. But doesn't work with existing characters that already have other morphs injected.

what if those morphs are in the teeth? Some character morphs move the location of the mouth up or down but fail to move the teeth along with it so I have to grab the teeth with the select tool and then I have access to their parameters.

I just checked that morph and it definitely appears on the head under Creature Creator>Mouth. It still works with base and morph++ installed.

Not sure what the problem is. I do see the Creature Creator folder if I start with a blank V4/M4, but I don't see it at all with my existing characters.

I may have too many morphs injected. I use Capsces' morphs so often I've saved figures with them already injected. I also use various smoothing and expression morphs (like the "Real Smile" package).

Morph channels can get overwritten without warning. Initialization creates those channels which are why you need to run the bat file after each morph pack installation. You may need to delete unused morph dials to free up those channels if it is possible.

When I had trouble with the Elite morphs it was Weight Mapped joints that caused the problem. Like you they worked OK with a base figure.

Actually it is not a issue of overwriting Morphs ! the Creature Creator morphs get there own Place when Initializing them !

At the time there was the Issue of use an app called Morph manager 4 , a very Popular manager to create custom morphs, but an issue for some Creators thinking that there morphs could be combined to make new Custom morphs out of them ! So what could be done against it , as combining morphs to make custom morphs could not be traced. There was the need of a security system in V4 , well for the creators a challenge, How can you get such a security into V4 as most had her and essential morphs to , Like ++ Creature, Muscles ect. How could this protection end up into most V4 Models , well simple , make a popular Breast Package for her that most would Install and Initialise !

And exactly this was the solution, and it worked, once Initialized V4 would have the codes and she will load it every time as the files get written in your !DAZ folder. Simple and effective . Morph Manager was no longer compatible and it helped prevent making these Custom morphs out of existing Morphs ! naturally most People have the code burned in there V4 , Irony is that this code is having some unpleasant side effects on V4 that can cause other morphs do things they should not do, or even Block movements of fingers as the locks are based of a huge load of Brackets [ LOL ] in the V4 Cr2 script and Poser does not really like them . But it is a effective method ! This has never been changed since that release . So If you sometimes note some strange behavior you might know were to Look :)

The codes were made back in 2009 for Anti piracy ( Was it official or unofficial was it an error or on Purpose ) I do not know but I know that they were very effective and that most of you still have the code built in your Beloved V4

Side note ;

Due the system the Brackets are NOT in the base V4.2 the script is clean the moment you load her she will call up the Initialized scripts and the Bracket system will be loaded. Saving her for fast load with Injected morphs will naturally save this security in the New V4.2 with your morphs. This lock system can cause issues on Load or after save it all depends on the structure. if it gets very baad then you will have to remove your whole V4 with the !Daz folder reinstall it all and reinitialize . But for sure you will catch the Bracket codes again once you add this Popular Package . and one day you might note strange things happen again in your V4.2

I just checked my V4 with these morphs. The creature eye and teeth morphs do not load on my V4 either. never checked before because I don't use these.
