Subject: Other features?

I won't be upgrading for a while so I'm living vicariously through the posts here. I've seen a lot of posts about the faster rendering, and what video cards seem to be working or not. I've seen how there are problems with old superfly shaders. What about the rest of the program? Are there other changes besides rendering? Has anyone looked at the cloth or hair room? Did they slip in any new little features that might not be brag-worthy, but would help with workflow? (I know the collapsed hierarchy didn't make it, but little things along that line)

From what I've observed: Poser 12 loads visibly faster than Poser 11, and I've got the feeling that when you save a project, it's faster, too There's also that new way to setup the mat settings: the material assignment,by drag and drop 2020-11-04_15h36_07.png

I don't know if one could count this as a feature, but the face room is gone. I honestly think i never used it and I'm a Poser user since Poser 5.

The mat assignment feature looks great and useful with many mat zone figures and props.

There is a Youtube video demonstrating the use of the Mat Assignment feature. It launched the same day P12 was released. There may be more in the immediate future.

I also looked at this new feature , but it seems to be for existing material settings not for building new . If you create a new Environment or Figure there might be a slowdown on assigning all new or it's own materials . I might be wrong but the simple material setting were sure Helpful especially for new models with allot of material regions.

Guess this will also be a feature of the Past !

If you have MT5 collections, including procedural mats, then applying to new models or figures with existing Mat Zones should be faster. I don't see any advantage of using simple material settings for assigning textures. Snarly has managed to get xL working in Poser 12 and he needs testers before implementing the software. D3D apps are also under consideration.

If the middle image is XS from D3D, I have good news for you. Snarly works on converting the D3D-Scripts for Poser 12. XS is on the list.

Yes, he just posted in another thread that he's working on some of D3D's scripts.
