One cost more than the other

Besides that there isn't any difference sir.

Will Poser 11 die soon? nope, but it most likely will not be updated any longer. Actually it is being updated now. To Poser 12 ?

No it will not die just like all the Previous versions of Poser. For most All Poser Versions are still alive and it will stay that way! If they decide to shut down the activation server People that own Poser 11 will just get them selves a Medicine ( Offline activator ) to keep there older versions running . It already happen with the SM version, once you purchased the licence you keep the right to use these even if they stop supporting it.

They spoke to this very recently somewhere. Either in the Readme for P12 or the mailout, I'll have to go find that. Anyway, they said they will not require the old P11 License Key to provide the Upgrade Path. And when I registered P12 it did not ask for a previous versions key. It just went ahead and upgraded. But to even get the upgrade in the Renderosity Store I had to provide that key to show eligibility FOR the Upgrade. They even said we'd be able to go back and forth with both versions. It is expected and allowed. Yaaay! No guilty conscience! :D
