Hey fellow Poser users, this is dedicated to all the people who are developing my favorite piece of software. Thanks for all the effort and hard work you did since Bondware is the owner of Poser! I opened this thread just to let you know, i purchased Poser 12 today! The new features and the faster and better equipped cycles/superfly render engine has convinced me to do the upgrade. Good luck to all of us on the continuing journey with Poser.

I totally agree.

Some of it feels like beta testing right now but I'm convinced you guys are on the right track. And it is cool to follow you updating Poser 12 so much these days.

Keep going!

Worth it for the green dots alone, IMO. I had a big project recently, and went back to Poser 11 for stability's sake, just to be safe. I found really, really missed those green dots.

I've got green dots on Poser 11, but it requires a manual change of the grey dot texture. I agree that it is a big improvement, but not worth paying for something you have already got.

Hm? I did not have to manually change any texture. If the value is not 0, the dot is green. It is a great new feature as it cuts down in adjusting values time tremendously.

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 13 November 2020 at 4:58 PM

Apparently, it's available in Poser 11 (though not as visible), but most people didn't know it.

Did this Poser version ever go through beta testing ? All these shader issues should have been immediately obvious. So now the community is doing the beta testing. Poser 12 is no use to me at the moment. I will be buying it when you lovely people sort out all the issues and either correct the problems with the old shaders, or come to some agreed standard on what the new shader set up should be. My guess sometime in the new year.

I think I can comfortably say after using P11 for a few years that no, it was not evident at all in the version I used. Green dots were news to me in P12 and automatically there from the beginning.

ok May I ask about what green dots you are talking and where do you see green dots, in Poser 11 and 12 it sounds very confusing when you all talk about dots and one has no Idea where you can see these and for what they are supposed to be so it would be nice to know more about them

ok great @CHK2033 thank you boy I was looking everywhere for green dots LOL actually Gray in Poser 11 and a little smaller, should of known as I was checking these often when a model was morphed sometimes a little difficult as if it is a master dial it will only show on the Body but not on the bodyparts that are affected

LOL yea for older folks for sure Ha Ha

Okay, I'll bite, how is this done?

Rhia474 ( ) posted Sat, 14 November 2020 at 12:53 PM

Okay. Let me repeat. I have NO green dots in Poser 11. Only in Poser 12. Screengrabs for comparison then I am done. In Poser 12, green dots are automatic. In Poser 11 I've never ever had them. period. If you somehow managed to manually install them, great. But unlike in Poser 12, they are not automatically there.

Poser 11, no green dots.

as stated, in poser 11 they aren't green. they are gray, and they're in the image you posted. I copied your image and highlighted them.

He edited the files, you can custom color a few things from the UI in photoshop or whatever you use, since he did it I'll let him explain the process since I did it way way back and cant open Photoshop or browse Poser files from my phone :p

Please read what I said !!!!! "I've got green dots on Poser 11, but it requires a manual change of the grey dot texture So yes the default is a grey dot. However, the grey dot is a graphics file that the Poser program displays when the parameter value is anything other than zero. If you access that file in say photoshop or whatever, you can change the colour to green or any colour you like. I just happened to pick the same colour as the Poser developers. No doubt you could do the same in Poser 12. Sorted.

I think it's 25000_Parameters.psd. You of course change it at your own risk !
