Edit the thing, save it out as Ceiling On, or something. Use that for positioning. Replace with the other one and render.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
You can also add an invisible "switch", depending on how the model is created, but ISTR it's a royal pain in the arse.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
There is a key icon next to the visible checkbox. Select it so it turns white, this means it can be animated. Create a new master parameter and teach the dial to set visibility on/off using keyed dependencies. Check the manual for the procedure, it's not too difficult. For even more convenience you could always create a custom palette and populate it with any dials you like.

is it possible to add a property to an existing model to toggle its visibility? I have a particular house model (I purchased, but did not create) that I'm constantly having to go into it's props, find the ceiling prop, and then check its visible box so I can see inside the house from above. And then when done, repeat it all and uncheck it before I render. Is it possible for me to add something so that all I have to do is open the properties of the house object and have access to the ceiling visibility right there?
