Jim, the built-in motion blur of Carrara is far from the nirvana :( . I really hope there will be some better motion blur in the future . It would be great if the creator of Pseud Blur for RDS (see the link) could adapt it to Carrara . Last time i've asked him (long time ago), he had no plans for Carrara . I guess that if he receives enough e-mails, he may reconsider this . Now that Eovia has released the SDK for Carrara, it shouldn't be too hard technically . Pseud Blur used to be free, but personnaly i wouldn't mind spending a few bucks to have it ! Anyway, maybe some special effects softwares like After Effects or Flame could do the job ? I don't use any of them because they are way too expensive for me, but maybe someone on the forum knows that ? litstJim -- If Carrara is like RDS (which in most cases it is, and which I am still using), you need to add it to your filters tab in your render settings. The thing that kept me confused for a while was that you had to set the first frame of your animation at 0% completion and the last frame of your animation to 100% completion in order to get the blur to work. With some playing, I've determined that you should tick the blur box and depending on your specific animation, the setting for blur should be around 1 or 2. Hope this helps. - Dex
Jim, Here's how you find it. Select the Edit|Edit Scene Effects menu. On the properties palette select the Filters view by clicking on the icon that looks like a gear. Use the plus button to add motion blur. Good Luck, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

Ok - I've done searches, found references to 'motion blur' but I have no clue how to enact it in this software. I'm looking for 'real' post-ish motion blur (i.e. simulating more frames than exist) rather than just the object-blur that, even under still (little animation) conditions, is turned-up high. Help? Thanks all! -Jim Gale
