Subject: Poser 2014 vs WIndows Updates in 2020

ShaneNewville ( ) posted Sat, 26 December 2020 at 5:26 AM · edited Sat, 01 February 2025 at 1:37 AM

Does anyone here still use Poser Pro 2014 with Windows 7 & 10? I have mine installed on both OS's but I have not run Windows update since Flash was supposedly discontinued out of fear of losing my main animation tool. (till more recent Poser gets fixed up enough for animation)

I'm on a mini quest to find out of anyone has all the latest Windows updates for 7 with Poser 2014 still working and on Windows 10 with it working. (I have both on dif PCs)

Thanks.

PS Happy New Year, almost

I do, on win 10, Poser Pro 2014 and everything is up to date and works as it should.

I don't own anything with Win 7 though but should be the same.

Well, I used to use PoserPro 2014, but now since Adobe killed Flashplayer I can no longer access anything in Libraries. I can still load .pz3 files. I doubt there will be a workaround to this. I don't want to use DaZ Studio. Yes, I'm a diehard but it's like guys who are diehard Ford or Chevy lovers. Place either one in the rival vehicle and they literally die. lol If there is a way to get the libraries to show up send me a PM.

The solution has been posted for quite a while now. Here is the link: https://www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2956792

@hborre: Thanks for the link. and the solution works. I haven't used Poser since late December and I knew the Library would not show up.

There is probably a way to get the Library docked again. It may be possible to find the Python script that has that code in it. If I find it, I will start a new thread and let the Poser users know. However, I cannot promise that I will be successful but, for the last few weeks I have been making a GUI in Tkinter (included in Python) to make a virtual 8 Channel Digital Voltmeter using the Waveshare ADC module in conjunction with a Raspberry Pi 3B+. While I am focused on Python I may as well have a look around.

Seeing that the Library in Poser 10 is not part of the Poser interface , I will have to live with the Library being non docking for now.
