Subject: Is Hivewire3D Down?

Is Hivewire3D down. I can't get into their forum. Which is really weird considering, I got in yesterday morning, but ever since I've been told that I'm unauthorized and need to sign in. That's never happened before. ...EVER.

The Store has recently closed, and most vendors are slowly moving over to Renderosity. The Forum is separate and continues as usual. The Forum is accessible for me, and the User-name shows up as logged in.

you have to replace the word "-dot-" with "." in the url I was able to access the site

You might as well PAY attention, because you can't afford FREE speech

Sorry, it's a habit of mine not to post direct links on this forum.

I was just there, worked for me.

Okay, changing the dots to "." worked for me. Thanks.

I think there was an issue very early this morning, because I had an issue just before logging off at 1:30am EST. Not sure what the issue is, but I know it was mentioned on the forum that it was assumed the store pages would still be available after Jan. 31st, there just wouldn't be any downloading available, and that's not what happened.

I'm assuming they were trying to fix it so the store pages were still available for those CAs who were moving their products here would be able to access the product descriptions on their products to updating for Renderosity's store.

That said, I haven't had any issues with the forum, but the store page is not available.

Still working for me. Most likely a DNS problem. When this happens try:

  1. Right-click Internet icon in Windows System Tray, Open 'Network and Sharing'.
  2. 'Change Adapter Settings', right-click 'Wi-fi' icon, select 'Properties'.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list to 'TCP/IPv4', click 'Properties'.
  4. At 'Use the following DNS server', type in 9.9.9.9 and 8.8.8.8 and click OK. Exit.

You just told your Web browser to bypass your ISP DNS and to use Google's DNS server, and also to fallback to another reliable one (8.8.8.8) if that fails.

A habit of mine as well, though I would usually type it as https://community (dot) hivewire3d (dot) com/

I think folks would realize what I meant, rather than thinking the -dot- was actually part of the URL, as that's what I thought when I read your post.

The bottom line was that links from the main page were no longer working. We have to manually type in the forums URL address and bookmark it instead. If we try from the main page, it will require the store login and password, which no longer exist. The store and forums used different logins, and that's why people couldn't get in. Just use the URL address MissB has suggested, and you should be good to go. :)
