I'm having a couple different problems at least. I tried Veronica (of Betty & Veronica fame) and made a cheerleader outfil from the P4 Sweater and Skirt, and then I used 100% transparencies. (This was done by Mike.... no last name). That looked ok except for a triangle on the skirt where her belly shows through. If figured hey, that looks a bit sexy?! So then I tried using PhilC's cheerleader pose, and Veronica lost her hair! So what is the correct setting to be made so that hair does not fall off? Conform? Parent?! Either? Neither? What if neither seems to work? How about shoes, and other clothes?

I do not really know about the triangle but the problem with the hair is that it is now located somewhere away from the head. Perhaps you can see it if you zoom out enough. This happened sometimes with ready made poses with me also. What I do is locate the hair from the menu under the image window and delete it. I then add the hair again and it comes in the right place. I am not that advanced in poser to offer a better explanation or solution but that seems to work OK.

Yes, I know the hair is not on the head, and obviously dropped off her head. I figured it wasn't worth trying to fix it when I wanted to know how to avoid the problem to begin with. So maybe I should pose my characters nude, and hairless? Then when they are posed, put on hair and clothes?

select the hair and parent it to the head,thats it

What thgeisel said, but an explanation on how to do that if you are not sure is double click on the hair, and then Select Parent :)

OK, believe it or not, I even did the parent thing for the hair on the last render. It appears that the pose set has a way of knocking the character's hair off anyway. Maybe that is because the poses came with their own cheerleader figure, and the poses were somehow made to go with her only?!

The solution is to open the pose file in a CR2 or text editor and remove the references to the hair. I made those poses waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay way back. Any I make now do not have the hair included for just this reason.

I've also found that the older one gets the problem of fly away hair diminishes :)

The Triangle looks like it might be the trans map for the sweater applied to the skirt. Chris Cox

Yes, Phil. I found your older stuff, and was quite pleased because there is some really neat stuff there. I guess I will just use those Cheerleader poses with that character and see about trying to find others for Veronica or better yet, Vicky. I know about hair loss... I am 51, and have had a "receding hairline" for years...Then one day I used an extra mirror and found the back was going bald as well. The irony is that what is left of my hair is longer than ever before...

My only advice would be this. I was once offered a miracle hair restorer by a traveling salesman. He professed that his own flowing locks were the result of daily applications of his patented lotion. When he offered me the bottle I could see the palm of his outstretched hand. I immediatly knew he was a fake.

You were right about the fact that I apparently had the wrong trans map for the skirt. The dead giveaway should have been the triangle. It is used for the neckline on the sweater!! I used a safe pose for this picture.

heheh you got it.... he did not have hairy palms so the lotion was fake.

BTW try setting the map size of each of your lights in the above scene to 1000 then re-render. You will loose those wrinkles on the side of the skirt.

How to keep you hair on: 1) Add the character to the scene. 1a) Optional: add clothes. 2) Add Hair. 3) Select the Hair object and go to Object > Lock Actor 4) Select the character and pose away- the hair will always stay attached to the head, no matter how extreme the pose. It actually has nothing to do with the pose or the "parenting" of the object. When you apply a pose, the figure poses correctly, but since there is no "pose" for the hair, it stays in the same place- usually a few "feet" above or below the character. --John

About hair loss... one of the medications I am on has that as a side effect. My doctor says that a multivitamin with zinc and selenium will help prevent hair loss. Since my braids are almost long enough to sit on, you can believe that I'm taking Centrum daily! Carolly

One solution that worked for me on the hair problem... Get the hair where you want it, parent it to the head, then lock it.
