Subject: need help getting talk designer to work for M4

estherau ( ) posted Mon, 06 February 2017 at 5:20 PM · edited Sun, 15 September 2024 at 11:10 PM

Hi, I have no experience with talk designer but I can get native figures talking. Just not M4. I found an xml file on the net, but it only worked sort of and either crashed poser or did weird stuff with the camera and his scale. I hacked it to fix the paths to the face files and since then it doesn't work at all but it looks fine ie like the other files that do work for other figures. I have poser pro 11 and am on mac. Love esther

M4 (and V4) both use a mimic config file for speech. So, unless someone has a working XML file for talk designer, you're better off using DS and lipsync (mimic) for speech. If you have Mimic Pro or Live, you can export the speech morphs to poser.

well i can't use mimic on mac so I will try and use talk designer assistant that I bought from DS and see how I go. there is a tutorial online for hiro and I think I will use hiro anyway. I did find some xml files for speech designer for V4 and M4 but I was having trouble getting them working. perhaps i'll have more luck with the talk designer assistant. I like using poser better than DS. thanks,. Love esther

You can use DS's lipsync and export to poser (.cr2 export) - I've used this a while back. I am just the opposite, I prefer DS to Poser (also on a Mac) - only rub is you need to be using the 32 bit version of DS for lipsync to work. Best of luck! -AniMajik
