I upgraded my computer last year thinking it would help, and while it has somewhat, it's still pretty slow at times. Especially if I have more than one figure. If I have more than one figure the camera starts lagging, parameter dials take longer to turn, etc.

I am using Genesis 2 with the DSON importer so that is probably not helping matters (I know, I'm very behind, but I don't know how to get genesis 3 + working in poser)

I want to know what component of my comp is making it slow.

It's not overheating or anything, I watch the temps.

Here are my specs

it's also on a 500gb ssd with 289 gb space left

I would not run a computer for graphics with less than 16GB of ram these days. Most will be running 32 or 64 GB. Secondly, DSON and Genesis will most likely be the issue with Poser running slow. Try this: load up a couple of the default Poser characters and see if it runs just as slow when moving the camera etc. Also, make sure you aren't caching 100 images in the render cache. That will most definitely slow down Poser.

When you say graphics do you mean my graphics card? Are you saying it's not good enough or that my RAM is not good enough? I'm planning on upgrading to 32gb of RAM, I just haven't yet.

I'm pretty sure genesis isn't helping, because I know when loading v4 on Poser on my old comp it was pretty fast so I'm assuming it's the same with this.

Any Genesis figure imported into Poser through DSON will be subdivided which is the cause of the slowdown. In DSON set the subdivision to zero which will remedy the issue. Also, there have been some complaints that the latest Windows update has had some impact on Poser 11/12. Search the forum for those posts. I haven't seen any problems with either of my systems with those updates.

Definitely a lack of RAM. I have the same problem. I really should upgrade the bugger. Trouble is, there's always something else I need to buy and, after all, those guitar pedals won't buy themselves, you know. The rest I blow on luxuries like bread and shoes.

Your graphics card is stealing 4 gig of your 8 gig system memory as "shared memory"? If so, Poser has only 4 gig left to share with Windows. That's really not just a little bit too little.
