Subject: Can I hire someone to help me set up my new version of Poser?

Hello,

I have just upgraded to Poser 12 and need help bringing in everything I've purchased in 11. I know it's quite complicated because some of it is Hivewire. Plus I have my Poser in laptop that I want to update as well. Is there anyone that I can hire for an hour to help me do this, please?

Thank you.

If you already had Poser 11, and your content was used there, you can link the previous runtime to your new version in about a minute or less. No need to reinstall everything unless you actually deleted the runtime.

How do I do it, Rhia? How do I link the new version of Poser the runtime from the previous version? Thank you.

There is an Add Runrmrime icon in the top right of the Library palette when you open it. Click on that ( it looks like a bunch of books with a plus sign). Kt will open a directory window, browse to the folder in your library in which your previous runtime resides ( probably Public Docunents... Poser 11... ) and click that to open.

I am not at my home computer atm, but this is described in the Poser Manual as well if you look through the table of contents, there should be a How to Add Runtime chapter.

I still would like to hire someone to help me with this. Is there anyone available?

Rhia474 has just posted the solutions for linking an established runtime to a new or updated Poser version. Is there something that you are not quite sure about that is hindering your new installation or something that you quite not understand? Be specific in your details and descriptions, If you need clarification through visuals, request it. There are enough free tutorials floating around without having to resort to spending good money for the same information.

I'll try it, hborre, and see how it goes. Unfortunately getting in to the "guts" of the computer is not my thing but I'll try it:) Thank you.

There is absolutely no need to get into the 'guts' of your computer. Follow the directions at the URL I posted, there is even a video there to follow along.
