Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
XP has a Win9598 emulation feature as well, that is supposed to work better than the one in Win2000...so that is worth considering as well. I, myself believe in the saying "if it isnt broke, don't fix it"...so I'm staying with Win 2000 ;). Cheers

--------------- A life?! Cool!! Where do I download one of those?---------------
Someone else a while back said that he was running Vue 4 under Win XP and was having no problems. But as karl says, "You never know..." I never did upgrade from Win 98 to Win2K, so I imagine that XP will be my next, although I agree, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I'll let Micro$oft work on their XP for a few more months at least before trying....
No problems for me under XP (which calls itself NT 5.1 BTW). Imported a group of high res poser figures (pzz scene), scattered a pile of vegetation around, a few of terrains, water and volumetric atmosphere. Left it to render and everything was fine. I've not had any problems with any of the programs I've got installed (Vue 4.02, Poser Pro Pack, Bryce 5, Photoshop 6, Premiere 5.1, Rhino 2, Office XP, Visual Studio.NET Beta 2, SQL Server, Dreamweaver Ultradev 4, Fireworks 4, IE 6, Netscape 6.1, Opera 5.12, Xara 2, Flash 5) Only hardware that XP didn't automatically install the drivers for was my Wacom Intuos tablet, but the Windows 2000 drivers from the Wacom website work perfectly. -Mark

I might have been the one talking about Vue and WinXP a few weeks ago. It does have slight glitches but it's mostly due to drivers from video cards, had some artifacts in some cases with my GeForce2 and now with the 3dlabs Wildcat II 5000 the OpenGL in Vue is screwed up...could be the card and it's compatibility with vue though. I run XP RC2, will order the release upgrade as soon as I get the cash, it's by far the best OS out of Redmond and I loved win2k since it's early days too. :) XP is the only OS that not only installed ALL my devices but also had them all working perfectly...no problem whatsoever with the VIA chipset and the SBLive! card. :) Cheers!
I would imagine that if the Intuous drivers work, the grapphire drivers should work too? Me, I love my Grapphire tablet, and I can honestly say i don't think I'd benefit from something higher than it, like the Intuous. but, I wouldn't want to do without it, and I would avoid XP if it meant I needed to ditch the Grapphire. The Grapphire's only about $100 US, by the way.
