Depending on how you upgrade to Windows 11, you will take a performance hit if you don't have the TPM 2.0 component installed on your motherboard depending on the age of your computer.  I can't upgrade at all and if I bypass the requirements, not only will I take a performance hit, I will also not qualify for any future security updates.

Well all I had to do was turn tpm 2.1 on and windows update did the rest after reboot saving bios settings

Windows 11... It has been ready for download and install for 1 week, maybe 10 days.

Each time, it takes an incredibly long time to try to install and fail for whatever boot-partition-what-ever-stuff-micro$$$$oft error can invent...
The only time I installed Win10 on a fresh computer, it took: 45 seconds, not 75 minutes to.. fail.

It's been a tradition with micro$$$$$oft: forget 1 version on 2, and this one is a great start to avoid, from what I've read and what my boss told me: the taskbar is huge step towards... windows 3.11, the start menu: the same... and the continuous advertizing? if that's true.. woah... could be worse than vista+8.0+8.1 at the same time 🤣

I tried it for about 5 minutes and then did a rollback to 10.  May try again later, after I have more time to fool with it, or not. Lol.

My system, a few years old now, is based on a AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU which was one to the quickest around at the time that was in my price range.  I am not sure that the motherboard supports TPM 2.0 but I do know Windows 11 does not support the CPU.   I am not a Windows hater so will move to Windows 11 when I have to change the system, or maybe even Windows 12 by then, but I am not dumping a working 32 thread CPU just for the slight improvements of Windows 11, assuming there are any.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

I have had no issues running Windows 11 and I had it a week before it was publicly available. Most things are the same with minor changes here and there. I've seen no continuous advertising either, so that's more untruths being spread around by people. There were no install issues either, upgraded flawlessly. I know Microsoft is greedy but they didn't charge for this upgrade so that's good in my book.

Depending upon the system you may not find TPM in your BIOS. Intel's onboard version is PTT. Platform Trust Technology. If you don't see TPM look for PTT.

Upgrade from W10 went without hitch. My grandson upgraded my graphics machine without asking and I've been spending the morning trying to turn my expensive computer back into a work machine and not an inexpensive mobile phone as it currently wants to operate. I have been trying to turn off crap loads of active tiles and social feeds I have no use for. I live in Canada. Why do I need to know the time in Madrid from my taskbar? Especially when the flippin' locator has me pegged down to my building. Widgets. Can't seem to get rid of them in total. I keep finding them stashed in various option settings instead of in one place. Rewards points? I won't be changing my work habits to earn loyalty rewards. I mean really. I must be getting old or something. I want my computer to do work for me, not to entertain me.

On the relevant to Poser side; I have yet to see problems with either P11 or P12 in the very limited checks I have performed. Same with Blender. I don't do DAZ so I can't say about that.

You're not getting old (yes we do all, but not at this level 😁)

It's jjust that it seems that micro$$$oft  has decided to change things that don't need to be changed, except if the idea is more money for them, as usual...

The more I read online, the more I think that I'll keep my habits with their OS: keep one, forget one.
This till the day when Adobe and Bondware decide to make a real step forward: Linux version of their programs (and nvidia, of course). If this happens one day, Windows will be definitely dead for me.

I've had enough of Win11pro , formatted and reinstalled win10Pro...Reason: blue screens constantly, multiple times daily, did'nt matter whether I was taxing the system rendering  heavily loaded scenes, or doing nothing more than watching youtubes ...BAM!!!!

wana talk about S-L-O-W... Hair and cloth simulations at a snails pace....even rendering preview animations took 2-3 times as long as with win10... I ain't got time for that crap.

Y'all have a great day...

I haven't notice any difference between Win11 and Win10 as far as performance. Maybe it has to do with my machine config.

One thing I got confused about after I first installed Win11 was I thought I was supposed to be using Win12. I was getting my Poser 11/12 mixed up with my Win11/12! I had to repeat over and over, "Poser 12, Win 11, Poser 12, Win 11."

I had a new laptop PC just befoe newYear and a moment of absent mindedness resulted in Win11 forced on during setup. I left it that way because, like it or not, I will have to move at some time anyway. If all else fails I have Win10 still in the factory partition to redo a factory reinstall.

Until now I have no reason to do this. My key apps: Poser (11, 12) and Marvelous Designer (9/10), run fine under Win11. Yes, version numbers around the decimal count appear to be popular.
