Had to squeeze one more in before the end of the month creeps upon us. This is a very heavy fabric that reminded me of the kind of drapery material seen in expensive hotels. A very touchable texture, and is even kind of "fuzzy" when you rub your fingers over it. Well, not the 3D version, of course. ;) All procedural, this uses the fabric function for the bump and one of the layer functions for the color, with some turbulence and one of the round filters (I think), to mix up the silver and gold threads, but keep them separated rather than blended.

wow.. nice work varian.... getting the gold & silver separate like that is a really neat trick 8 )

Very cool looking fabric Varian :) Can I use one of your spares as my attempt? LOL Mine were disasterous, and didnt look at all like fabric. I would describe what mine looked like, but this is a family forum ;]

Hey, that's yet another great looking fabric... I hope you're going to be nice to all of us and post these on your site at some point.... But yeah, you got it all over us in this fabric thing...

Thanks, all! I think Laurent has been having some great success with this exercise, too. And Larry made a cool plaid, and Rich did a couple good ones. Paul, yep, I'll have 'em all on the site sometime soon. Just too much fun not to share 'em. :) Beck, even if it didn't look like fabric, didn't it look like something useful? I just love working with the material editor because it's so easy to come up with "something", even if it's not quite what I had in mind to start with. Ms Outlaw made a cool "accidental" texture on her unicorn...a kind of zebra appearance. I love it when stuff like that happens. :D
