Subject: Any help? Poser 12 stopped loading any runtimes, includling its own

Rendis ( ) posted Sat, 19 November 2022 at 6:56 PM · edited Wed, 27 November 2024 at 8:57 PM

HI all,

I have a rather odd problem. My Poser 12 was working fine this morning, then when I loaded it up later in the day,  there were no libraries at all. Nothing. the Library window is completely blank. I got a strange message about a python file from Poser 11 being corrupt. I -do- have p 11 installed as well so I can make use of the older Python scripts. So far, I made P12 renew its INI and Library prefs, I actually deleted the entire Python folder from P11. Still getting the message. PLEASE.. anyone have a clue how to fix this?

Thanks,

Rich

First things first, do the actual runtimes still exist?

Have you tried to point Poser again to it's library's?

If that doesn't work, I would suggest to make a backup from them. Next I would try to re-install Poser 12, choosing to keep the preexisting settings during the install process. Sometimes a software break's, a file get lost.

I can't point Poser to anything as the library window is empty. The refresh button on the bottom does nothing. All my runtimes are intact Including P12. I suppose I may have to reinstall as you suggest.

To access its library, it must be able to access its own database server. Poser's Log window may give you informations if there's a problem.
Did you reboot your computer? Maybe something is wrongly interacting, or completely stalled, avoiding Poser's library to function correctly.

Poser's libraries need access to the local network on your computer, even if the runtimes are on a local drive. If a firewall or antivirus software blocks local access you might see this happen.

Well, I tried all of these things. Nothing seems to help. I still get a completely blank library window. I'm guessing my only alternative is to uninstall P11 and P12 and see if that gets rid of the problem
