Subject: Multithreaded bending?

I was adjusting my preferences in poser today and noticed something called multithreaded bending. I looked it up in the manual and it said "Multithreaded Bending: When checked, uses all CPU cores to accelerate bending." Based on that, my understanding is that with that checked, poser will use all the cores in my machine each time I move an elbow or a head. I don't fully understand how something that's been done for decades on much less advanced computers in real-time will suddenly be faster with more cores. Am I missing something here? Is this something beyond simple posing? Is it supposed to help with multi-figure scenes that normally slow down poser? Is this a holdover from the old days when 2 figures would bog down a machine?

Apparently it was introduced in Poser Pro 2010

There appears people had some bugs with it on...

ive had some recent issues with everything slowing down to a crawl once certain complex obj's imported into my scene -- and I found today this thread. Bump. turning off the bending has improved drastically my performace i've got rtx3090 and great cpu and lots of RAM - so I'm glad I found this thread - hey developers on 13 - really think about whether this "checkbox" should even still be available in poser 13 preferences - i dunno - is it helpful for any situation nowadays? just my findings thanks for all the great work everyone merry christmas

Good to know, I also wondered about that.
