Subject: Remember :Easy Pose Underground"?

Letterworks ( ) posted Thu, 16 February 2023 at 6:52 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 10:42 PM

I'm look to find any one that might have saved off the manual for Easy Pose Underground by Ajax I think. The manual was hosted on the net and accessed by a button in the program, but the manual has been deleted from the net. I'm hoping some one may have a PDF copy somewhere. I haven't used the program in years but I have something that really could use it and want to check some of it's functions.

Thank You for any help

Mike

Not having any luck finding anything, even on wayback.

However, while searching I came across this which iw a P12 python script that basically does the same thing:

Thanks DCArt for the reply.

I actually have the chain control and yes it does do much of the same thing. The difference is Easy Pose Underground creates a DIAL to work the string that can be included in a product. Chain Control, as far as I can find must be installed to the user's poser to work. Great for rendering, but not so much for caontent creation.

Still I really do thank you for takeing the time to look and reply!

Saying this in the the nicest possible way, but that ken1171 script does not really do what Ajax's EP Underground does...

This is what EP Underground does... it's a multi purpose cr2 editing software exe that handles dial manipulations, cascading ERC, and Geometry Switching code insertion. Sort of similar to the apps that Dimension3d used to make such as Binary Morph Editor and PFE .

This Makes a lot of these tasks much easier to set up. Most particularly useful for cascading ERC and Geometry Switching at this point. Most of the dial manipulations things included, that used to be opaque in Poser, are now built into Poser via parameter settings dialogue. So outdated in that regard

Cascading ERC in its truest form has to be hacked in (or can be handled by a script such as PhilC's All Tied Up, which unfortunately stopped being Poser Python compatible after Poser 8 or thereabouts). There's also a free derivation by 3DCheapskate in python script form. Not sure if it works in 12 or even earlier versions. I've never tested it.

Geometry Switching, very tedious to add into a cr2 manually from my experience. This software automates the process via a UI and auto edit of the cr2, providing you have the alternate geometries set up properly in preparation.

For more simplistic Pose Controllers you can use something like Netherwork's spawn scripts, which are very handy and also unfortunately no longer available, to rig the dials automatically or just use the DE, if you have the patience, depending on the complexity. With spawn it's a couple of button pushes, the script detects and lists any rotations, transforms, and active dials and automates a classic ERC master dial creation from those chosen parameters.

Be aware that setting up a complex Pose controller in a figure, in particular involving arm and leg rotations will bear unexpected and not pretty results if you try using in tandem with IK. This goes for both classic ERC code controllers and DE type controllers.

If I'm understanding you just want the manual for 1.2 correct? If so, I still have it, but it is in a .hlp file which will require the help reader which isn't available with newer versions of windows (there are workarounds).

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?

Primorge I d/led the pdf thank you. And a big Thank you to everyone that took the time to answer! I remembered the EP could do a number of things but I couldn't remeber the exact approach to them, this will help a lot. Thanks to all again.

Thanks @primorge from me also. I hadn't realised that the help file was online. I don't even have EPU installed at the moment, it must have been on a previous computer and I haven't needed it since - but when I do need it I stand a better chance of re-acquainting myself with its functions now!

I've a funny feeling I might need to exhume some long-dead version of .NET Framework before I can reinstall.
