Hello, I was tring to import a OBJ file into 3dsmax 3.0, and I was using Poser 3 to open it. It opens correctly in Poser but when I choose to save it as a 3dsmax file, it does so, then it doesn't import correcly into 3dsmax. Err I hope that made sence....Can anyone help?

Please dont take this as Gospel but try opening the OBJ file in a text editor and delete the line relating to the material library. If this works then there is your answer, if not... well it was worth a shot :)) Regards PhilC

There are problems with the export functions, to be fixed sometime.... Exact details with 3ds I'm uncertain of, but OBJ tends to work best. The most reliable trick was to export with the ground plane, then blow away the ground plain later. This produces a one piece model. Usually. Otherwise you can export without the ground plane and fiddle with it using UVMapper. You will need the Habware utils for Max to import the obj files.
