Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
I did V4 to Sasha transfer and that worked fairly well with the painstaking 'put both on screen and hand dial everything' method. But as hborre says, if the meshes are too different, that would not work.
Try maybe loading your character and a blank new doll to the screen together, line the up sideways in profile and start messing with dials? That would be the only way I know inside Poser.
You can do it in Poser with the morph brush, but it takes a while to do so.
Go slowly, and try to do sections at a time as different morphs at first. You basically shrink wrap the one figure to the other one.
If you are good in blender or zbrush you can make a full body morph much quicker, then import the morph and tweak the adjust morph to centers info to get it better..
Regardless of which way you do it, if the figure you are going to is a lot different than the one you came from, the good bending may not be so good afterwards. Then you will probably need additional jcm's.
What figures are you trying to go to and from? And are you comfortable editing a cr2 by hand to fix oddities in it that appear in areas like the eyes.

I'm going from Sydney to Lafemme. And I might be able to fix things in the cr2. I've looked at them and made minor changes. It's mostly the face I need to match. I have enough morph dials to match the body close enough. I won't be doing any nude so it doesn't have to be exact

Making LF into Sydney is doable, but because of the differences in topology it has to be done with an HD morph.
Here is the difference in the Topology, LF is subdivided, Sydney is not. This is with an HD morph applied to LF to make her look like Sydney that I just made in Poser.
This is what it looks like quickly rendered.
The Sydney texture has a lot of stuff burned into it, shadows, highlights, etc. So it does look slightly different.
The brow and the upper eyelid are posed in this to get closer to Sydney.
The lips, etc would need posed as well.
With a little more tweaking, it would look just like her.

Yes. I even tried higher than one in case my old eyes weren’t picking up on a subtle change

Thanks. She turned out pretty good. Need to work on the eyebrows a little but she's so close

Your welcome.
You can pose the brows, do the center chip and inner brow chips down 1, and you will be really close without doing much else.
Turn the subdivision for render on LaFemme up to 2 as well, if it isn't already.

I have a character I use frequently but I dislike using her model. I'd like to use a newer, better bending figure. Does anyone have any suggestions for copying the shape of the character to the new model?
