Subject: GeForce Dual RTX 3060 ?

kyraia ( ) posted Tue, 16 May 2023 at 12:17 AM · edited Thu, 16 January 2025 at 12:20 PM

Dear Forum,

short question: does Poser 11 support GeForce Dual RTX 3060 ?

I installed one in my PC yesterday and found out that GPU rendering with Superfly doesn't produce any output. (Fortunately, CPU rendering still works.)

Thanks,

Kyraia

No. The RTX 30 series (Ampere architecture) was introduced several years after Poser 11 development ended. The newest GPU supported for SuperFly rendering in P11 will the the GTX 20 series.(Turing architecture.)

The 30xx and 40xx series are supported in Poser 13

Thank you, Nerd. Good to know, as saved me making an expensive mistake...

FWIW, there's an extensive GeForce_20 Wiki at...

Just wanted to chime in and confirm what's already been said - Poser 11 does not support the GeForce Dual RTX 3060 for GPU rendering due to the software's development timeline. The RTX 30 series was introduced after Poser 11 was developed, so the software can't utilize these newer GPUs for SuperFly rendering.

However, as kyraia mentioned in the original post you can use it for CPU rendering. While this might not give you the same performance as GPU rendering, it's a viable option until you decide to upgrade to Poser 13, which does support the RTX 30 and 40 series GPUs.
