Subject: Help Please......Pro Pack PNG vs P4 RSR

Hi, I made some mat files in Poser 4 with the pro pack, and asked someone with straight Poser 4 to check them out for me to make sure they were working. The mat files are working fine, but since the Pro Pack generates PNG thumbnails instead of an RSR file, the "Shrugging Man" shows up rather than the thumbnail. Would someone please tell me how I can get the thumbnails to show for a non Pro Pack user? I tried saving the pose to the library, but still no rsr file was created... Thanks, Spectre3

I think that you will need to have a none pro user to make them for you, either that or maybe the rsr converter.

rsr converter is the way to go.. :) I actually have Poser 4 so I don't have the .png problem.. I was actually just wondering, if there is an .rsr will ProPack show it, if there's no .png. I make .rsr files to use instead of the default ones that Poser Makes anyway, it allows for transmaps to be visible, and just looks nicer. :)

like P4, PPP will generate the thumbnail eachtime it is saved to the library. PPP ignores the .rsr made by P4 I have P4 and PPP installed on my main machine.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Will RSR Coverter convert the PNG file to an RSR file and leave the PNG file intact? If I distribute the mat files with an RSR file only rather than a PNG will a PPP user not be able to see the thumbs since PPP ignores the RSR files?

Load your png into a paint program and save it as (pct). rsr convertor wil then convert this. Distribute both rsr and png. It won't hurt anything and you will make both users happy :) I have started doing this myself.

So then, if I already have a pct file that I used to create my rsr with rsrconverter, can I save that as a png? Would it work like it's supposed to?

Thanks Wizard! Excellent idea.. I'll give it a try.

Forgot to mention. When you save your png make sure you save it with an alpha channel or else it won't show up in Poser 4. Later,

Hopefully they will go png only in Poser 5.
